Stripped Intake Thread

I was joking of course but IMO and i've been doing this a LONGGGGG time I wooood drill it carefully using whell bearing grease. I've done this kind of thing MANY MANY times over the years without any trouble. Oh and i wanna warn you the 89 inch lbs those bolts are suposed to be tightened to is pushing it. I'd stay in the 60 inch lb range if you don't want to goes through this again.

Ok I came up with a safe fix. Use a air compressor to pressurize the crankcase and drill away. The air pressure will blow the ALL the chips out the hole as you drill. I've done spark plug holes this way.

How could ANYTHING get into the lifters? I need a clear explaination because ITS IMPOSSIBLE! The ONLY way anything is getting into those lifters is through the oiling system and that meands getting past the oil screen and oil filter and THATS IMPOSSIBLE! You realize when the engine is running the oil pressure is POSITIVE and everything is getting washed with oil. The only place anything is going is into the pan.

i wouldnt be asking for any tech advice from that source, joking or otherwise, and whenever metal shavings in your oil is a minor consequence of a repair then something is seriously wrong...and if the metal shavings did just end up in the lifter tray what about the hole in the bottom? there is some clearance between the pushrod im thinkin?

Also, I am not the one who is telling the OP it is OK to dump metal chips in his motor. That may be something you might do, but to recommend it to others is irresponsible.

Yeah after all the research I've done I found that out I just thought maybe trance565 found a different way and I also know helicoil won't work because u have to snap that little piece off at the bottom, but I was thinkin maybe a timesert? I really didn't want to take the head off but it is the safest and the best way to fix the problem.
