Default LS2 vs. LSX intake

Do we know if the LS2 intake would fit on an LS1/LS6 yet? Am I the only one deluding myself into believing that an LS2 intake might be a cheaper better alternative to an LSX?

Seems like the big gains for bigger motors like mine would come from the 90mm TB LSX, and from what I have seen it looks like the intake and TB would set you back about $1500. If the LS2 is priced anywhere near the LS6 intake, we could be getting them for under $500, although probably still faced with the possibility of a $699+ 90mm TB doesnt make it seem much cheaper. any thoughts, facts, further insight?

I have been wondering the same thing since I heard the LS2 will have a 90mm TB. From everything I have heard, the LS1 and LS2 (engine) would be completely indistinguishable between each other from the outside. If this is so, then it stands to reason that the LS2s intake would be a cheaper answer to the aftermarket manifold.

p.s. if anything you could always go "borrow" one off of a 05 corvette

It would be nice to have another intake alternative. I will be interested to see the differences between the LS1 & LS2 intakes.

It was my understaning that the LS2 intake will indeed bolt up to the LS1. However, what throttle body would you use? Could this throttle body be hooked up to an F-body?

The problem would come with the throttle body since the Vette is drive by wire. I'm sure someone would make a 90mm TB though that would mate up to the LS2 if it fits on an LS1. A few people already make 90mm TB, or will be, and I'm sure they could easily change the bolt holes so that the same TB's could bolt to an LS2. If not there's always adapter plates.

once the O2 intakes come out w/thier 90mm TB's...and they fit to ur lsx heads...I'm sure the prices will drop dramatically w/the LSX...it's a game of patience is all it is.

I heard their might be the need of a little machining to get the ls2 intake to fit on the ls1/6 platform

From what pictures I've seen of the C6 intake and throttlebody,it looks like the C6 throttle is a larger version of the one used on all the 03 and up trucks.Going to throttle by wire is no big deal Speartech has the hardware and programing.I doubt the C6 throttlebody would cost more than $300 a new truck throttlebody cost about $230,add about $400 for hardware and programing and you're done.

Well, when the LS2 trickles into the GTO, the F-body should have an alternative for the new intake and throttle cable. These high performance engines are being made in St. Catherines and they will soon be making the LS2 version. Thank goodness for the GTO.

Well, the LS2 uses LS6 heads so I seriously doubt this.
