we did a header ory stock muffler gig on a friend's car. it actually sounded really good. very tame at idle and driving around; made a little bit of noise under wot, but nothing crazy.

i liked it. but i'd run a stock catback with cutouts off the collectors before i'd purchase any aftermarket muffler.

GMMG for a stock car, best cat back out there. If you do headers though and the rest of the exhaust, go with TSP's true dual setup with bullets or sweet thunders..I'm running pacesetters with sweet thunders and I will never change it, best sounding exhaust IMO

I thought the Magnaflow was a little too quiet at first, in fact, I thought it sounded quieter than the stock exhaust and I bitched about it. Now that I've driven it for a few more miles, it sounds pretty good, but it's still not loud, if that's what you're looking for. Overall, not bad for $100.

My Car started with LM1 and It was pretty nice. After I got headers it was the worst thing ever, I'd hit this rpm range between 2100-3000 and it was just unbearably raspy and loud. I got a magnaflow now and w the headers it sounds like a real car again, nice deep idle, not a lot of rasp so u can get on it and not go deaf, wot is a little weak but I do that about 1% of the time I drive so I'll take the trade lol.

Anyway LM1 is a good choice but if you have any plans even in the next year to get headers I'd stay away from it.

Stock engine or stock ALL meaning with or withOUT headers? I had kooks headers and corsa exhaust before I replaced the LS1 with the LS6 and it sounded pretty badass!

Hey thats my car, lol.

GMMG for stock LS1 if you can afford it. There are options out there that are cheaper and everyone is typically partial to what they own.

But for a slam dunk, guaranteed to make you love your exhaust on a stock car...GMMG ftmfw!!!!!!!! END THREAD

You must have had an off road y. Mine isnt really that loud at all just driving around. Idle sounds close to stock.

Well the best sound for a stock Camaro with just catback only I would say is Borla. The best sound with LT headers I would say is a true dual exhaust with Dynomax bullets

adjustable Borla catback

Hate to say it, but if you aren't prepared for GMMG price, Flowmaster really sounds good.

I have Stock Manis No Cats, LM1. I will get a vid soon to show you guys but since I got a modified exhaust ticket, I dont want cats anymore, but then again I dont want a 1000 dollar ticket so I will have to go with a different setup. Im considering for the meantime, stock cats, high flow cats, and I dont know which catback yet. I might still keep the LM1, not sure. I do however have an x pipe and dynomax bullets in storage to when I do get LTs.
