I did something similar a year or two back. I only tested
a few paper filters. The best of these (OEM, Fram, the
Blackwing Donaldson that came with the SLP SS lid, and
a Purolator) was the the Blackwing, second was the
Purolator and pretty damn close. The OE lid and screened
MAF were both much worse restrictions than the paper filters.
Two aftermarket lids produced no measurable restriction
(as pressure drop w/ a 1/8"H2O resolution).
