Default I lost EVERYTHING last night. HELP!

So i was driving home last night, and all of a sudden, my car shut down completely. Lights went off, motor shut down, it was completely dead! I had to coast to a stop on the shoulder. I really don't know what it could be. I am going to check my fuses in a couple minutes, just to be sure, but what could make it shut down right away like that? I am hoping it isnt something related to the harness.

bad alt, bat, or loose ground maybe? i would start checking with a multimeter. also check the main power and ground cables at the battery for corrosion.

I agree with poltergeist 02, you might want to look for a broken cable as well. If the main cable from the battery to the fuse boxes broke you could loose everything. It might not even be broken, but have to much resistance/corrosion.

lol, sounds like something i would do. freak out thinking it was something big, overlook the simple stuff, and then a buddy come over and hook up the battery wire and laugh at me while he drinks my beer.lol

congrats on it being simple and free. doesnt work out like that too often

Same thing happened to me when I first got my car, it drove me crazy trying to figure out what it was.

The culprit: Loose battery cable
