bolt on true duals x pipe
#44
Ok well I'm trying to look again at the interest in this kit. It's 2.5" O.D. 16 gauge aluminized steel piping. It is a true duals kit over the axle, all mandrel bends, and it ends lined up to the exhaust outlets in the bumper. All you need to do is pick the mufflers and tips you want and get it finished up, this kit DOES NOT include mufflers or tips. The kit includes all clamps and hangars needed to install. The price will be $574.95. It bolts right upto longtube headers.
Much interest? ...

As far as mufflers go, any bullet style ones will fit. On mine I have magnaflow 4x9's but the passenger side muffler had to be turned a little and it can be seen a little from the rear of the car.

I'm planning on going to an exhaust shop to custom fabricate an H-pipe but I'm willing to be a guinea pig here. Would you be willing to sell one to me at a discounted price and in exchange I'll post a ton of pictures and give my review? Also, could you change the X to an H?
I feel that by me purchasing a kit and being an independent outside party, that will go far in establishing a deeper interest in these kits in the LS1tech community. PM me as I am very interested.

OK, looks like we got the ball rolling on this. Set date is in about a month for everything to work out on Wdesign's end and I'll be installing it on my car if it all works out. Look forward to receiving product and kick off the start to the first ever affordable full true-dual system.
I will be installing this on my Strano/Koni setup. I'm not sure if this matters but here's my suspension mods:
UMI 2-Point Tubular Bolt-in Subframe Connectors
UMI LCA Bolt-in Relocation Brackets
UMI Single Adjustable Roto/Poly Lower Control Arms
UMI Single Adjustable Roto/Poly Panhard Bar
Strano SP141 Lowering Springs
Koni 4/3 Shocks
I have decided to hold off, at the moment, for a full length torque arm because I plan on purchasing a MWC 9" in the future and their rear end comes with a specifically made torque arm for their configuration.
Along with the install, I will be installing headers and Flowmaster single-chambered mufflers and my own 3" dual exhaust tips.

I'd consider how some folks have fitment issues with the TSP duals and some don't. Having the fitment nice and tight on every car is going to be extremely difficult as there's so many factors involved. The only way to really make the exhaust fit that nicely is to custom build it to each car. I'm sure the TSP duals fit really nicely on their mockup vehicle.

Yea, as 02TransAm/Batmobile said when the kit is released I guarantee it will fit pacesetter longtubes. As far as other longtubes go, I will try to have more information on fitment before I begin selling the kit.
I really look forward to getting this kit out on the market. I'll continue to give updates on the progress made. And I have to give thanks to 02TransAm/Batmobile for being so helpful and willing to help me get things going.

perhaps if you reserved the first 12-18 of pipe after the header merge as a separate set of pipes that would "adapt" the rest of the exhaust to a variety of headers... So you would basically be making most of the exhaust a universal fit, but having several different style merge pipes that would adapt the duals to different header brands. an intermediate pipe if you will.... you could design one for the pacesetters, stainless works, kooks ect... header problem solved.

yea i have considered that. As you said basically have it be a universal kit from the x all the way back and just have separate kits for each major brand of headers. I'm first going to see how the first few kits fit different headers. Of course I know what you mean, you don't want to have to tweak your "bolt on" kit.
