Corsa owners please chime in

Hi, i just put Kooks headers and no cat y-pipe and a corsa cat-back on my 99T/A. And i have to be honest I don't like it.It sounds awesome idling and with light throttle but once you get into it ,it starts to rasp pretty bad.Anyone else have this issue or know how i can minimize the raspping?

put a single hi flow cat on it after the y pipe thats what I did.....

You need cats and a better y pipe merge, no other way around it if you want that catback

I put a dynomax bullet in the I-pipe (18" i think) and it took alot of the rasp away...i'm happy with it. Miss the sound at idle cuz it toned it down a bit but it sill screams a WOT

On my 99 FRC and my 03 Z06 I had the Corsa Pacecar exhaust. I had high flow cats on both too, sounded like a dream. You need a cat or resonator.

EDIT: after installing KOOKS cats i lost around 2rwhp and saw no difference with the torque. Think about it this way, it will clean up the sound and when you go out with the gf/wife you wont smell like fumes.

I have longtubes, no cats, and the corsa exhaust. I've had only compliments about the sound of my car. Most of the compliments entail "awesome", "amazing", and "bad ***". A few of these came from Mustang owners.

Don't forget, your car sounds different outside than it does inside. I was shocked on how deep it sounded outside the vehicle when revved or driven at WOT.

Replace the kooks dump merge with a true merge and this will help the rasp.

Yeah, the Kooks Y-pipe merger leaves a lot to be desired, it's more of a collider than a merger. Upgrade to "true merger" and you'll lose a lot of rasp and pick up a little bit of hp/tq.
