Default 99 Trans Am Best Cat-Back System for the money

Hello everybody. I want to get a cat-back system for my 99 Firebird T/A so she can exhale better and make some more noise. I am 20 years old and am a college student with a part-time job. So yea not much money to spend. Im looking for the best sounding cat-back system for less than $500. I would love to get a corsa or borla exhaust but they are way too expensive for me right now. So please post your suggestions and if you have some vids with sound clips of your exhaust done hesitate to post it. I'm open to anything that I can afford.

Slp loud mouth. Probably one of the best flowing and loudest cat backs you can get. I think they are in the 300 to 400 range. I love mine and had it on for years.

I'm looking into it on youtube and it sounds badass. They are around $420.00. Good option. Thanks

What do you consider "best sounding?" SLP Loudmouth is probably the loudest.

You can get a Hooker catback for $90 and just have a shop pull the old muffler out and toss a new one in with stock piping.

Stock piping is restrictive. Check out ws6 store and Maryland speed I think I saw one of them had it for 375. I think it was ws6 store though.

You won't be disappointed with either of SLP's Loudmouth Systems. They flow very well, sound freakin' awesome, and are made of Stainless Steel all for around ~$400.

Adding SLP Loudmouth was my first mod (besides Wheels & Tires) and I was very happy with the results.

I was checkin out that ws6 website and I have narrowed it down to either the SLP Loud Mouth, Cherry bomb Pro, I was thinking flowmaster but they got some nasty *** tips, Dynomax Bullet, and maybe hooker or edelbrock. Any one else have experience with any of these beside the SLPs that they have already recommended?

The manifolds and y-pipe are by far the worst offenders on our cars. Swapping out the piping after the y will net you very few ponies. imo an extra $300+ isn't worth it.

Don't get a flowmaster, especially the cat back for it.

The TSP is basically a SLP loudmouth at a better price so I would go that route. Keep in mind if you plan on adding headers down the road it'll sound like crap.

People in the classified section on here have the hooker cat backs for like 200-300, I'd check over there daily.

that's the cool thing about the TSP catback though......after headers were added, it would be really easy to sub in different mufflers to change up the tone......i thought about trying a borla xr1 or a 3.5 powerstick

Very good point, If i could do it all over again I'd do that. Tsp cat back then headers and swap out mufflers, well that thing that's kinda called a muffler on the TSP

Everyone i've talked to raves about the borla xr1

Living in TX it prob doesn't matter to you, but IMO the only catbacks worth considering are the Magnaflow and Loudmouths, because they're made from stainless.

Living in New England, no way would I put a non-SS exhaust on my car.

I vote for a Borlamouth Setup. Take a SLP LM system and ditch the resonator for a Borla XR1... Cost me $315 for mine, all stainless and sounds great.

Here is a sound clip on stock manifolds and y-pipe:

And with LT's and ORY:
