I gained over 20hp from a fast 90 over a ls6. HOWEVER,I had a head and cam package before i did the intake. MIKEWS6-What do you think is going to happen on a stock motor with an intake like this? People build cars backwards ALL the time and this is one who did it too.I keep telling people, good exhaust buy good heads AFR or TRICKFLOW heads(yes you get what you payfor) with a good cam and last is the intake if you cant buy all at once. My fast gained 23hp building my car this way and it was non ported.

Wait, who is suprised by this? I am with the tuner/seller, he just put on some of the best SUPPORTING mods, not the best mods for power.

Hell for a few thousand dollars I could gain a few tenths by going with a 12 bolt rear and 4.11's, but the fact that the mod is so supportive is key!

Throw a cam in that thing and you will see HUGE gains, with some heads - even better.

Get a clue guys, anyone could have someone install a cam and make big power, but be limited unless they switched headers/intake/heads.

gains seem right on and pretty consistent on the graph - with a different timefram the OP would be much happier, say he did H/C dynoed then did intake/headers and dynoed again then this thread would read;

Holy damn, 35 RWHP from intake and headers!

I think I still have a stock cam for sale if one of these SI people is interested. (2000 Z28 w 41k on the cam, used synthetic oil)..

And I agree with the supporting mods theory, I was just not one to see putting a 102 on a SI engine until it really needed it.

We just did an intake comparison in High Performance Pontiac magazine on a TA with LTs and a mild cam. We did an LS1, LS6, and FAST 102 on the same car same afternoon back to back to back on the dyno. The results were interesting, check the mag next month to see

Don't waste your time....if you are going to put money into springs then get a complete cam kit....A few hours and X amount of dollars isn't worth spending, and another $70 in dyno time to see 0-3 hp IF that.

Call it good for now UNTILL you get a great set of heads and spec'd cam...Then worry about valve control.

And I also think you shouldn't care so much about rules set on the Internet on what you can or cannot do to your car..

The guys with SI records are doing it with ALOT of weight reduction, if you want that record, then start ripping **** out of your car and make it a tin can on wheels with a v8.

Stock Internals does not mean "original" internals you know what I mean, well it doesn't to me. That would mean the rule says you can't replace worn/broken parts. That wouldn't make sense. I don't know the rules, just thinking from a logical point of view.

Exactly, you can replace worn items, as long as they are oem for the year of your car.

What exactly is the point of building a car for an internet fantasy class anyway?

I did the LS6/BBK/FAST dyno testing with stock/78/85/92mm TB.

I only gained like 11whp peak form my stock junk to top of the line ($$$$) parts at the time. A ported fast92, 92mm TB, Smooth 4inch bellow, descreen ported 85mm MAF.
Over my ported stock TB ,stock bellow, stock maff (with screen), stock LS6 intake.

Not bad for like $1500+

Or it's a good way to have fun on a budget. I know that's why my car is SI. I've got under $3k including the car, and out run PLENTY of h/c/i cars.

A Tony Mamo ported fast intake is not budget. his setup is not really budget.
