Default Getting to the exhaust shop after headers with no O2'S

I'm going to be helping my buddy install headers on his 02 z28 this weekend and were ordering corvette O2's but its going to take a couple days to get them in. So anyway the headers are going in tomorrow and we'll be taking the car to the shop monday morning to get a y pipe made question is what about the 02 sensors. I was thinking about just splicing the wries for a couple days to make them work. Yes I realize its not right and probably wont work the best but at least it'll be something for a couple days. My other thinking was to just put plugs into the headers for now and not connect the O2'S, wouldnt that just make the car run in open loop? I realize gas mileage will suck but once again its just till the new ones come in.

Car will run super rich (o2's will be saying the exhaust is super lean), but just take it easy and get those o2's hooked up as soon as you get them.

just take it slow cause your exhaust will be ridiculously loud!!! cops will be on the lookout for a race car on the street...lol so just take it slow and you should be fine.

id reccoment splicing the wires and wrapping them and pluggin the o2s in. open headers isnt a big deal at all but the o2's kinda matter with them just up there its gonna run like a wheelbarrow full of buttholes and misfire and buck and do all kinds of stupidness until it see's WOT then itll go like a badass. a day or 2 of spliced wires isnt gonna hurt it i did it for like 7 months

If you just hang the O2s outside the exhaust what should actually happen is the diagnostic cycle will run and determine the aren't working and switch to open loop.
