I need help with a MAF for my set up??
I'm at a point that i need to know what to do with my MAF.
Ok my set up is a LS2 motor with TSP MS3 fully ported 799 heads, weiand port matched and opened for 90 mm tb and 90 mm TB with 175 shoot of NOS.
Now want to know what MAF is the best choice to make power factory ported,85mm or 100 mm ? What is the limit in terms of power for the factory ported and the 85 ?
Thanks for any help that can give some light

I'm just going off what Frost told me, but he seems to think the 85mm's max out at about 440rwhp.
On the other hand, you could go with the TSP 100mm, but it's been hit and miss lately with tuning, clocking, and idleing.....
Another wrench in the mix.... Is going Speed Density an option?

Who's tuneing the car... talk to them!
This fall I'm going with a TSP 100mm or lingenfelter 100mm MAF...Ligenfelter is a little more but I like the way it looks, seems to be the same sensor inside, just different houseing. The shop that assembled/tuned mine, uses both, they've been around for about 10 years.
I'm currently running a factory 75mm maf on mine, 404ci, T2 cam, TEA Stg 2 243 heads, fast 92/92, kooks 1-7/8, about 11.2 compression, made 466/446 to the rear wheels through a 3400 stall/4L60e and Moser 9". The curve dropps after 6200 and the Kpa drops to 9... they told me it had a bit more but the MAF/lid/lack pulling more air was chokeing the car... I had to take a break from spending money and put it off for a year.

fastsspr,
It's never a good idea to port a MAF. De-screening & re-calibrating the MAF table is OK, but, not porting. It screws up the consistency of the airflow measurement. Sounds like the 100mm MAF or speed density tune is in your future, as mentioned above.
Almost forgot...Frost is a respected professional tuner. So, if the statement came from him, count on it. What is meant is that the frequency @ an airflow rate, above what is required near 440 hp, is beyond the max frequency that the MAF can measure.

someone needs a hug. and a good ole maf punting.
the reality is guy at a certain point a LOT of hassle and nonsense can be eliminated with a SD tune. for what he would spend on a "100mm maf" and the guess work and blah blah he could take half that and tag that onto the tune 1 time and go SD and open up many options as i said.
whats the matter scared of more flow?
