1k to spend what would be my best bet????
I have a 2000 formula LS1 with intake and exhaust to start. I sold my jetski and payed bills and now i have 1K to blow what would be the best thing(s) to put on it performance or handling wise? Just wanting some idea's and it needs to be things i can do myself so i don't have to pay any shop besides it's relaxing working on my own toys.

If you want it to handle, strano springs, sway bars, and bilsteins. I just dropped a G on this setup and its awesome. If you want more power, put a set of 1 7/8" primary headers on it and a catted Y. If you get a really nice set with a catted Y (ARH or Kooks) you'll have to spend about 3-400 more over your 1k budget.

Headers and true duals, or headers and misc supporting mods like ls6 ported oil pump, sway bars.
The best bang for buck headers are pacesetter which are like 600 shipped with a ypipe from tsp

Are you wanting to spend it on suspension or engine parts? Suspension I would say strano springs/bilstens OR stock springs, koni's installed on the lower perch in the front and heater hose mod in the back.
If its the engine I would probably start on the intake side of it. Lid, Fast toys ram air, LS6 intake and possibly a ported T/B.
At this point headers will put you over your budget. Wait and do the tune after you get the headers. Just my .02
Once the mod bug bites it's tough to ignore. I'm still mad how much money I have spent on my car and it's not nearly as much as some people do.
Let us know what you end up with.

Koul thanks everyone for helping out and pointing me in a good direction to start. My overall goal for now is to get around 400-460 rwhp without boost or bottle. Its my dd for now that will eventually be my daughters. Shes only 2 but already loves cars and tries to drive our standards. The bird is her favorite or our 06 Mazda RX8 and 01 C5 Corvette. Next year I'm going to start work on the vette. It has the Ls1 as well but its an auto. On the vette should I leave it auto or swap it out any suggestions?
