Default Volant cold air intake

Found 1 for $74, I'm just wondering how they are compared to, say the the SLP lid that i have right now. I've seen them go for 200-300 on other websites. Any1 have experience with these?

I wouldnt spend the money if you already have a lid, doubt youll see or even dyno noticible gains...even if it is only $70, chances are that they realized that it isnt good and want some money back out of it.

MAYBE if you had a stock air box...id pay $70, but not if you already have a lid.

fyi, I just put a dual cone volant on my 99 TA and I replaced a whisper lid with it.. true the power gains are negligible but it does give a more aggressive sucking sound at WOT and it looks sexy as hell when you raise the hood.. Id say gains are purly cosmetic...

How was the fitment on your intake and hood Anticop? Most of the reports I hear are inconsistent; though a majority seems to say the fitment isn't sealed at all. Personally I think the JAAM is the best setup for a WS6 if you want to use the air box and ws6 hood.

my fitment seems fine. It installed easily and looks great. Ill test it this weekend and see how much it actually conforms to the underhood contour. I also have the WSQ hood but I dont think that makes much difference since the underside seems to be identical between it and the OEM WS6 hoods...

I have one my complaint is the filter plastic y pipe thing isn't angled right for my smoothe air bellow I have. The maf isn't angled right so there is a gap at the bottom and it keeps popping off and exposing the maf. And the air box rubber seal is starting to peel off ( but other than that it looks Sexy when you show people your beastly ls1 compared to a regular slp lid difference in performance is barley noticed

i know what you mean about the angles being a little sharp.. what i did is file a bigger lip on the bottom of my MAF end and cut cross-hatch grooves in it to give the bellow something to bite on.. it's never popped off on me...

The Camaro version is a little different as you guys know, but I went from SLP lid to the Volant. I applied weather stripping all around and it did add a significant sucking sound, but the whole Volant setup is just flimsy, poorly made and fit like crap.

I took it off and now have reinstalled my stock airbox (sold the SLP lid) until I get another lid. If there were any gains over the SLP lid, they were negligible.

Now, having gone from the Volant to the stock setup with baffles and paper filter, I can tell you that you WILL feel a noticeable gain going from bone stock to the Volant, I just got tired of looking at it. The radiator was just leaning back because it doesn't support it and I always had weather stripping popping up when I raised the hood. It's a good idea but they're just not made very well.

Got the dual cone Volant, ditched the Slp lid. Noticed better throttle response!

Mine fitted fine.
