k&n comes pre-oiled. i never had a maf go bad, but i have gone through 2 cans of crc electronic cleaner because of the oily filter.

I have a thin coat of K&N filter oil on my entire car and found I am aerodynamically creating less drag than conventional waxes. Slow computer? Spray some of that oil on the modem watch the computer pick up speed.

If you do oil make sure you only put oil on the bottom of the filter. I've seen people oil both sides. That will pull the oil right off the filter and pull it into the MAF.

I never personally oiled it. It came oiled from the factory. Most of the time when you say something like I did people get offended or have a comment because they've had good luck with K&N filters. They say something to the nature of "you must have over oiled it". Again, like I stated some people have good luck with them and some people have bad luck with them. Apparently, you are in the good luck category. That is fantastic for you. Personally, I won't buy another one because they are not worth the risk and the gains just are not worth it.

I'm pretty sure that K&N's instructions say in bold print to not use compressed air. Now your car is going to break!

+1 WITH LILJAY. I've had a dirty maf and cleaned it and it made a huge difference.

I'm embarrassed to say that when my car is clean it feels faster I just tell myself that the dirt creates drag and less drag = faster car.

If you guys think a waxjob speed up your car, you should try a claybar. I clayed my car for the first time and thought someone slid a procharger under my hood while I was sleeping.
