What setup did you have before? If you only gained 14hp than I will be lucky to gain 8-10

I had the stock LS6 intake w/ a ported TB.

The gains might sound minimal, but I could def feel the power it added from 3 grand up. Pulls a lot harder w/o a doubt.

Haven't tracked the car since it was just full bolt-on. I'm really curious to see what it does now with the 4.10's, new cam and Fast 92/92.

Yeah, if you've already got 799/243 heads, and a 228+ size cam, you will similar gains to redtail2426. I plan on doing some AI 243 heads sometime soon and the Fast 92/92 combo will shine even more.

Well you can also resell your headers and cai to recoop some of your costs. Plus it would give you a chance to get rid of that horrible pacesetter y-pipe.

But it seems as though you've already made up your mind.

Looking forward to seeing your results!

Ha my y-pipe is welded to my headers. So they would probably be hard to sell and they are painted not stainless so they don't look so great... Plus the PTA of installing those again lol.

It is not $900!!! I have an ls6 intake and throttle body I will get $400 for. So I will have $500 in it and than it will be even better gaines when I put my cam on it. I figure if I go ahead and get the fast 90/90 with 1 7/8 headers and tsp y-pipe I will have huge gains with the cam..

Used 50 shot pills, only used it when I was starting to lose a race. Had it in the car for months and never used the whole bottle.

I went 12.4 at 118 mph in my trans am while spinning in first 3 gears, just had ls6 intake, exhaust with ms4 cam. You don't need that fast intake till your out of other mods and need that last bit to get in the low 11s n/a.
Your a dick.. You just talked me out of it

i gained 5rwhp/3rwtq with a non ported 92mm fast/stock ls2 TB over my stock ls6 intake/stock tb. this was on a 02 z06 with ARH 1 7/8" headers, 3" x-pipe, UD pulley, CAI and ECS big n/a cam. The gains were only above 5800 rpm also. Same dyno/tuner as before also. The dyno graphs are almost copies of each other until the very top end of the rpm range. 428/365 (sae) to 433/368 (sae) on a dynojet.

sorry i didnt realize you were thinking of doing this with the stock cam.If i was you i would do the cam first.Your going to feel slighted if you do the intake now, because you will notice zero gains, unless you dyno it and want to see the 6 hp you gained. It will really not help at all, your engine right now is not starving for air. slap a cam in it first

Just messing with ya.

I would not hesitate to sell a ls6 if I got a Fast (after it was on though to make sure everything worked out). Ls6 intakes have held steady at $300-350 since I joined this site. Even with all the used 90/92 from people going to 102s, the ls6 intake price remains constant.

So having it stuck on the shelf for a "just in case" doesn't do much good when he can get another one for the same price he would pocket by selling it.

But I do agree on his car there are much better ways to spend the money.

I would do another converter and MTs in that car-with traction 11s. Thats what did it for me.

Some other things:
Barely trip the lights when staging
Over inflate your front tires
Ice down your intake manifold
Yank your front sway bar if all else fails

When they come up used in classified.grab a bigger lid, bigger MAF and a Powerbond/SLP pulley. With a cam and Fast down the road that stuff will help.

What would you guys say is a fair price to pay for a fast 90/90 in good condition with all hardware?

You don't need it yet, you are literally wasting your money getting it with the stock cam in. The ls6 intake already outflows your ls1 heads if you haven't already upgraded to 243/799's and even then it still outflows it. Cam it, port your throttle body and buy some heads and still have money left over from buying a fast.

I wouldn't say 10-15 hp and a tenth in the 1/4 is a waist. Plus when I put my 228r cam in it will help me out even more..
