Default My True Dual Exhaust 3" over the axle

Well Last Friday 9-9-11 we fired up my new build for the first time ,and it sounds good. I picked the car up Saturday at Mike Ward Racing in Columbus Ohio where they did some final steps to it .They did a basic start up tune and got it running. It is at the exhaust shop now getting True Duals 3" over the axel. They got alot done on the car today, its looking real good so far. I will be posting pics of the progress as it comes along.

Whoa! Someone needs a spray under there. What'd you find it at the bottom of a lake and put some nice suspension peices? All I see in the pic is the pipes running off the headers

Wow, that is pretty bad rust, worse than mine and I thought mine was bad.

Do you have any pictures in better lighting? I'm currently putting together my dual 3" exhaust as well, and am looking for ideas.

Wow, our Camaros are getting old guys. Dirt or surface rust, who cares! don't worry about it he is obviously taking care of it. Its one step at a time. If we were all rich our cars would go on the rotisserie i'm sure.

Thanks Brad,
Yea its mostly dirt and the axel is rusted , but i don't care next year that will be replaced with a 9" when we do the trans.I will get around to cleaning up the under side for you concourse detail fanatics. I started this thread just to show my version of 3" TDs in progress its not done yet ,so hold your negative comments til its done. Its not going to be best out there ,its not mandrel, its not stainless and some of the welds could be prettier. But it is the design that I want and so far I'm pleased with the progress.I'm not pleased with the pics so far, the link does not work from our forum for some reason. You have to type the URL in to go their www.fquick.com/omc8

Woah woah, you're in an area with that much rust and aren't going stainless? I'd rethink that one quickly boss.

I like to see some pics of other C6 corvette style X pipes. Long X with narrow throat. And yea I know Jegs and Summit have them for 90 dollars.

Progress today , they finished making both of the mufflers today. They have made it over the axel on both sides . The tail pipe and muffler are installed on the passenger side. So it should be finished tomorrow. The tips were ordered, and they came in also, stainless steel turn downs.Sorry I did not take any pics today, but I will tomorrow. All thats left to do is the horizontal pipe crossover to the drives side turn , install driver side muffler the hangers and the tips.

THE RUST!!!!!!!!!!!! How will your car survive? Will it make it off the lift? Will it move? Will it start? Will the key even turn? OP you are in serious trouble!!!!! Your axle has surface rust......on the outside.

you people seriously think that' a lot of rust? it's normal for a rear.

post pictures when it's done. i wish a shop around me was competent enough to run true duals over the axle and actually be good quality work. but why're they making "custom" mufflers?
