Default Hooker build a good set of headers? (and check out my set-up)

I'm looking into getting the Hooker Stainless headers http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HOK-2469-2HKR/
with some stage 8 locking bolts, and I am going to run them to my Borla Xr-1's that I just got in the mail today! Will throw some pictures up, planning on running 3" with an X-Pipe, and a cat delete, with a bolt in section of tubing to take the cats in and out, as CA wants me to smog the car.... and this will be ran all the way back, tell me what you all think? I am kind of nervous with how much non restriction the xr-1's have, look like there gonna be really loud... hope their not screaming..

Hooker makes a great product and has been around for a very long time. I have always used hooker headers if they made it for whatever I was working on. The XR-1's are gonna be loud but will sound very mean.

Oh and if budget allows for it I would step up to the 1 7/8's headers if it were me. To add to my comment earlier, hooker headers have always fit perfect on anything I've installed them on. I've done 3 sets on Fbodies without problems.

What would be the real difference in between the two sets of headers? Like power gains.. Etc.?

I just got a set of Hooker 1 7/8s and I was impressed with the fit and finish of them. May I also suggest some Percy split-lock header bolts. They are very nice, I'm running those as well.

Stage 8 locking bolts and Percy's split locks are two completely different designs. I went with the Percy's because they are an awesome design and well made. And, they are about the same price.

Fwiw I have a regular set of hooker coated 1 3/4 and they are about rusted out. This is a car with 15k miles that never sees rain or snow. A combination of rocks kicking up off the front tires and chipping the coating combined with washing the car has toasted them. Just make sure to get the stainless and you will be set. Honestly tho I would get the tsp 1 7/8 stainless for 500.00... If I remember correctly the hooker stainless 1 3/4 are 539.00 from speedtweakerz.

fire120ball, any header without a CARB EO# will fail the visual inspection (and there are none with one for the LS1 F-car).

TSP 1 7/8.. Cheaper and will make more power.

However, the hookers (13/4) might be a little easier for an install.. Something to keep in mind if you are going to be changing them often.
