oil dipstick

Iv'e been reading a few install guides on installing headers. In everyone of them it says to remove the oil dipstick tube. Why is that??

It justs makes the install easier. It's hard enough, you dont need something else to get in the way. It's one bolt and really isnt any trouble to remove or put back in.

I am about to get mine installed by someone else but I have been doing a lot of reading and I never heard this. Are you sure they don't mean the drain plug? I read that you might take it out for a little extra clearance.

The oil dipstick tube is kinda entangled with the stock headers. You have to remove the dipstick tube completely otherwise the stock headers will hang off it and you will not be able to get it off. All you have to do is remove the 15mm bolt from the side of the block and then with firm pressure pull up on it.
