That sounds about right. I felt a noticeable difference after the LS6. Much more than 5 hp.

The LT headers 20-25hp
This information is not accurate at all.

OP - If you budget permits, finish off your exhaust system. If not, the LS6 intake swap is one of the best bang for your buck mods on the LS1.

Yes thats right 1999transamls1, I said 5hp on a stock motor , stock means the way it left the factory no mods ,no bolt ons, no headers.
Heavy modded motor is minium of heads and cam swap to my way of thinking.
If you doing both LS6 intake and LTs your gain should be over 25hp at least.
I believe OP wanted to known which mod would give more gains on a stock motor, doing one or the other, not both.

No one is ever going to be "accurate" when it comes to HP gains.. Each car is diffrent. But like stated before, LT's would be your best bet to do first, then the intake.. (get the harder install out of the way) Plus you will hear a difference aswell

You're arguing something that has been proven here time and time again. Bottom line, you're going to see MORE than 5rwhp gains on a STOCK motor when swapping out an LS1 intake for an LS6. It's beside the point right now.

I for one would like to see at least couple or more dyno results on stock motor to see the gain by swapping from LS1 to LS6 intake. The problem is that most guys have done other mods to there cars before they switch intakes, and this corrupts the comparison.

LS6 intake may only give you 5-7 peak but the seat of the pants feel is going to be huge. Gains all through the power band. There is a reason GM put smaller cams in the cars that came with LS6 intakes stock and I will tell you it was not for emissons. 1998 Cars have the largest Fbody cams stock so 15-20 hp gains were not uncommon in the day.

It would be interesting to see what one of old cams would do in a stock 01-02 f body.

I always heard 01s and 02s had smaller cams to componsite for the extra power of the ls6. I bought the intake and tsp headers at the same time so won't know which gave me the most bc they will b installed together with a tune. I'm hoping for at least 30 with the 2 mods combined with a tune

I also would like to see what one those old F body cams would do in a bone stock 01 or 02 F body .Or even the cam from a 2000 LS1 vette I think it was a little bigger too 198/209 .500/.500 115.5 LSA. Probably not much of a gain on a bone stock car.

LT's will compliment the intake, the intake will compliment the LT's. You will think the part added 2nd is the shiz-nit. Both are proven but, good exhaust should be the starting point. Of course this is IMHO.
