Red face Injectors

I'm trying to grasp what I've been told. The "Tuner" told me that he could not complete my tune because when he got the car to 3000 rpm's the fuel pressure went to 33 lbs. The injectors are 28 lb. injectors correct? so what is the problem? Any insight would be Great.

The injectors need 58 psi to deliver their 29 POUNDS of fuel. Two completely different "pounds".

That walbro pump is crap. Lots of documented failures. Choose something else.

Have to disagree with them being crap. I have the same Walbro 255 pump in all three of my cars now lol. Two of them have been going strong for over 12 years.

My stock Trans Am fuel pump failed a few months ago and I replaced it with the Racetronic/Walbro setup. I recommend them with full confidence.

^You do know the racetronix kit uses a walbro ppump encased in an aluminum sleeve right? OP fuel pumps can be hiit and miss but I woulds till do the racteronix kit as it is a drop in procedure.

So......what I am getting is Walbro is the best for the money. Some say they are no good but Racetronix is Good and they use the walbro pump. So is there a difference in the pump itself between the 98 which is what I have and lets say 1 99+?

Is there a part # for the 1998?

If you are just going to be on the street and not going to the track another option is to replace your stock pump with stock OEM pump replacement pump. You can get a made in the USA OEM replacement pump at rockauto.com for $258 with the wiring harness. Don't beleive all that BS about you have to drop your rear axle or you have to cut a hole in your floor. That is not true. Just drop your exhaust and fuel tank and your there. I just did one two months ago and it took only a hour and twenty minutes to do. I then went on a 5000 mile trip and it worked perfect. Car makes 452/418 and the OEM pump feeds just it fine.
