Default ls1 true duals with stock manis, no muffler, cats or not cats??

Like title says, I've already bought the piping from someone on here for true duals. This did not include mufflers (which I'm fine with). I want to simply know if I should remove the cats or keep them on the setup (it came with high flo magnaflows). I know everyone will probably tell me about headers and that whole 100 yards. Just want to know sound wise what would sound better.

Again this is a setup with stock mani's (its a 98 trans am), stock motor, x piped out to no mufflers, should i remove or keep the hfc's (magnaflow)??

I looked all over the sound board and youtube and could not really find a similar set up.

Thanks guys

It depends on where you live. The pipes dump before the axle, I assume? You're going to want some type of mufflers, also. There are many types that don't obstruct airflow that much.

Buy some cheap headers at least if you're going to the effort of TD's. You can find them for less than 300 online.

its a set that goes all the way out back, but just with tips, no mufflers. If i do headers, it will be way down the road. I just want to know in terms of rasp, drone, and sound what would sound better. I'm in indiana so we have no emmisions testing or inspections. I know it's going to be loud, thats why I really decided to buy the dual setup, instead of just cutting the cats to begin with. Just want to know as of right now with my setup what will sound better.

Ebay headers, NO CATS, and the true duals.

With cats you spend more money, make a tiny bit less power and don't smell

Without cats, you save money, make a tiny bit more power, and the car smells a little like gas (if you're dumping under the car, it is going to smell bad, after the axle you are fine)

cats for sure. cats and stock manis sound real nice. deep, refined and rasp free. going with no muffler and stock manis will sound like crap imo.

Agreed. If you're not running mufflers, keep the cats.
