Default SSRA install results

so put on my ssra kit ( super sucker ram air) and went for a highway cruise.
the result? omfg crazy torque and hp
not really. but there was a difference, the faster i went car pulled harder than it used to, and from speeds of 90+ there was a very noticeable difference. it also made my exhaust note a little deeper and noticeably louder while cruising or acceleration. and no it dosent make your engine run hotter. overall id say worth it. install was easy

I wonder if it would help on a FI car still using the factory air box with the free ram air mod already done?

I think you're getting the placebo effect. I really doubt you can feel a difference between having it and not having. Do I think it helps? Yes. Could I actually feel a difference before and after? No. I don't see how you think it made your exhaust louder either. Nice that your enjoying moding your car though!

Only downside I have found is that you have to watch closely for tall curbs and parking bumpers. When plastic and concrete meet, guess who wins.

This is the only thing stopping me from getting one, I DD a Z71 and drive my lowered car maybe once a week ..you can imagine the things I scrape.

I'm still getting one though, SSRA or chris1313. The scoop is removable right?

I don't think placebo affect man. I know my car and how it does. Not saying there's a huge difference now. My car was full bolt ons before install and at higher speeds you can tell the ssra is helping everything work better. No its not a 20 HP gain but its a small gain. And yes it made the car louder. I run with a 3"pipe cutout open all the time and I didn't notice the difference untill i was cruising on the highway. ( which I drive everyday). To each his own this is my opinion

Yea I broke the first one I had on my camaro in a steep driveway I REALLY loved the effect the SSRA had on my car. It's been my favorite mod so far. I did the SSRA and the free ram air together so the diffrence was huge for me.

Yes, the scoop on the Chrs1313 is removable. Quite easily, as a matter of fact. Scoop only comes with non-ac version though... which I have.

I LOVE IT

im with you on that one, noone is saying its like running n/a then hitting a 75shot of spray but i did slightly notice a deeper pitch from my exhaust and a harder highway pull. i always do before and after vids of my car when i change anything performance related to the engine or exhaust and the after vid was deeper. i think it is a nice supporting mod with a full exhaust..dont think it would help a whole lot with a bone stock car..imo
