This thread isn't about the fast intake. This is about the bbk and porting results.

Im running a BBK. no real complaints. i came from an LS1 intake, i felt a small difference i guess. i figured anything is better than the LS1 intake, and at the time i couldnt find an LS6 so i picked up a BBK. I modified the EGR plate for bosst reference to my BOV and my boost gauge....

i painted my intake, and the clear coat turned yellow after it got hot. and it was high temp, so it looks like ****..... then my fuel line spewed gas all over it and took off some of the paint. its too cold to mess with it now, ill repaint it next year. MAKE SURE YOU LOCTITE THE BOTTOM PLATE BOLTS IN. 4 of mine were almost all the way back out and one was sitting on the plenum. i removed the gasket and RTV's the whole bottom plate then blue loctited the bolts in.

no port job here though. the inside is really smooth and not rough like a casting like u would think.

the day i painted it...

I just installed the bbk intake that i received from Mike @ sk speed. Install was straight foward, fit great and performance was noticed. I replaced the stock ls1 with the bbk and ported stock tb. I also need to keep the egr for emission purposes so thats a real plus also for this intake. Pm Mike for a great price.....you will be suprised

Dropped my BBK off with Chris Frank yesterday. Should be picking it up in a couple weeks. We'll see how it looks and then what I pick up from it. Going from a stock LS1 intake and bolt on 98 LS1 to a BBK ported intake and no other changes. Then a tune to see how it does after that.

If your heads are milled be sure to check for interference not only with the valley cover bolts but also with the small top head bolts. Mine hit the intake between the runner mating surface and caused a vac. leak.

My intake hit the crossover coolant lines in the back . So I had to make a work around for it...

For the valley cover you can shave the heads down some or just buy some button head bolts. For the head bolts you gotta take some material off the intake where they are hitting.

i went to the hardware store and bought shallow head bolts for the plenum. the crossover lines in the back, i took off and cut the crossover out and replaced it with a rubber hose and ran it away from the intake, did the same thing for the front. been like that for 6 months now,no problems.

This is the test we are after! Let's see this when you swap and let the debate have some substance.

Like it says, If your going from a stock ls1 intake the BBK is better than an ls6 and not much more money. I would expect even more from a ported one..

I remember that test. Bottom line BBK outperforms the LS6 everywhere, I see no reason to run one unless it came stock

I picked up an LS6 the other day. I decide to retain the stock look. Both are good intakes imo.
