any ported bbk intake results?
any ported bbk intake results? I'm pretty sure I'm going to run a bbk intake. Was going to run a fast, but Ill wait until I run a stroker in a few years. Anyway, I know you can portel these bbk intakes and just wondering if anyone has and what results you have seen. I'm going to do some clean up work, port to a 90mm tb and do some clean up work for sure. Looking.g for more input.
I don't know anything about porting results, but I want a BBK intake as well. Not saying the LS6 isn't great, but I like the aluminum look. Especially polished. Sorry for the random post, but just wanted to let ya know you weren't the only one on here that likes the BBK intake.

I have seen some installs of the BBK, but have never seen one post about porting one, or with any potential gains. I have never looked in one, but if there is enough meat on the runners, I am sure you could pick up some flow from opening and blending the runners to match the intake ports on the head..

BBK will pull away from the LS6 over 4 grand with no low end loss, as will every other intake out there aside from the edelbrocks. I really don't know why everyone loves the LS6 so much, if you have it keep it if not buy something else, you are leaving power on the table if you don't
You have dyno results showing the bbk pulling the ls6? Everyone I've read about says they felt a SOP difference when they went to a bbk from their ls6. Still would like to see port results. I wonder how much the 85 bbk helps over the 78 mm TB on the ls6.

I went with a BBK and love it. I have not ported mine because I do not have enough mods yet for porting it to be worth doing. I have veiwed several dyno results comparing the LS6 and the BBK and the BBk has edged it out each time by about 5-6 peak HP. My favorite being the comparison found in "Dyno-Proven GM LS1 Thru LS7 Performance Parts". The curve on the BBK also looked good showing gains from 3k and up. I really don't want to get into a heat soak argument here because I feel it has been beaten to death. Anyway if you have a lot of mods and feel you need the porting then I am sure you can probably gain another 5-10hp from it. More than likely the way it comes out the box will be just fine.
never ran a modified bbk, but i have ran a couple port matched, opened up weiands and i hated both of them. i personally (and i did say personally, as in my own personal opinion) will never run an aluminum intake again.
