Muffler recommendations?
Im currently running true dual 3 inch exhuast dumped with dynomax bullets before the axle. I have plans to run the exhaust out the back, im trying to decide a different muffler to go with. The bullets are a little loud so I want to quiet it down some. The flowmaster 10's sound pretty good. Im wondering though how much quieter they are though? I want them to be a little more quiet than the bullets but if there is hardly a difference than I will go with something else. Also in the future I will be running heads and cam to. This is not a daily driver but at the same time its not a race car. Just a fast toy for the weekends! Thanks for your input guys.

These mufflers are an excellent quieter performance option.

I recommend the borla proxs mufflers with some bullet cats if you want them. The borlas are very tame but give a nice sound inside and out. I am running a 228 cam and heads as well. I can tell you were to get the mufflers for about $90 a piece if you pm me. They are right under the rear seats and have very good ground clearance. However you need to run them out the back or they will still be loud.

Austin, I'm in the same boat you are. I want a good performance muffler, but I don't want it to be super loud.
Mine still has the stock exhaust (42k miles) and it's just too quiet. I just want to replace the muffler and open it up a little for the time being.
I love a good loud exhaust, but I want to keep it down a little for now.
Any middle ground on performance and noise? Anything has to be better flowing than the stock muffler.

If you want something quiet it idle/lower rpms check out the hooker maxflow. Had it on my turbo mustang and it was near silent at lower rpms. It got loud wot though.

I've been trying to decide on a different muffler myself. I am sick of the Borla with LT's. From the videos on youtube i really, really like the Magnaflow and the Hooker aerochamber is also good.

The 10 was even decently loud on my car when I had it, and that's when I had factory manifolds and cats, my exhaust guy has lt's with x pipe, no cats, and 2 fm 10's and it was LOUD! Look at the Borla XR1's or some dual chamber mufflers like flow 40's or something

I wish I could call up the DynoMax model number, but my blown 32V sounds very much like the video...cool at idle, very pleasant at cruise and brutal (read NASTY!!) at WOT...
I've had guys follow me into gas stations and ask, "What the hell are you running, I've never heard anything like those!"
I love FlowMasters, but for a truly different sound, I'd stick with a more calm version of DynoMax...I put Borla's on my GF's Range Rover...
