You dont have to do it,, If your current mounts are in good shape, your fine, Most people do it, because it is so much easier with the headers out, and if you do have issues, youll wish you swapped them when you had the headers out.. its all your call though. If you do it, I would go with the polys, stay away from the solid mounts, they are more trouble than they are worth, You will hear opinions from all on this, but I have had all three OEM, SOLID, and Polys,,, Poly is the only way I will ever go.
Replacing your Motor Mounts should be Standard Procedure when installing LTs. They're relatively inexpensive. Anywhere from $50-70 for Polyurethane, which is the route I've always gone. If you upgrade to Solid Mounts they're a bit more of an invenstment at around $160. Yes, they can be a bitch to get installed, but they are the best insurance against, and only solution to, a Banging Y-pipe, which makes them well worth the Time, Money & Effort it takes to get them installed.
If you choose not to upgrade, you're rolling the dice. Some people get lucky and have no trouble with their Factory Rubber Mounts, others have their brand new pipes banging on their floorpan. If you happen to be one of the unlucky ones, just know that its nearly impossible to get to the Motor Mounts with Manifolds/Headers in the way, so expect to remove everything you just installed in order to fix the problem.

Yea I'm hopin that they'll go in pretty easy he put them on his car for like 10 minutes and decided he was gonna go turbo they look new. I'm gonna do it at my buddy's shop on a lift so hopefully nothing goes wrong and turns it into real long job.
I would do it, I didn't have the horror stories that everyone else has about lining the engine up with the hole to get the bolt through, I centered mine up just by lowering and raising the engine, but I just could have gotten lucky.
