How would you fix this FAST90 intake?
What are the FAST intakes made of? Are they fiberglass or some composite stuff? I'm wondering if I can just fiberglass this problem over, maybe even make it stronger. Not sure if the material will bond w/glass though.
Ideas? If not, who has a lower or a whole FAST 90mm for sale?

....and these things cost $900 for some shitty injection molded plastic. Great product FAST/Wilson w/e.
The more stuff like this I see, the pissier I get about overpriced parts.

This. You MUST know what the composite is made of before you start using just any glue. Some glues will break down certain types of plastic they were not made to work with. An epoxy (like JB weld) you probably will be ok with, but I would still check just in case.

At this point, anyones guess. I do remember jacking the front of the engine to get headers in a while back and manage to crunch an oil sender. Idle was hanging lately, so I decided to track the problem thinking vacuum leak and found this.
It was never dropped that I remember. Personally, I wonder if the cold nitrous charge did it. It has the trademark look of a backfire, but it never has.

Some kind of adhesive, epoxy or jb weld. Ive used liquid nails, yea liquid nails to repair a ls1 intake manifold. Had some cracks from being crushed. I laid beads in the cracks,set them in and let manifold sit for bout 3 days,then sanded and painted it. Worked great.
Also used same stuff to repair cracks in my ftp lid, dam that thing has been brittle since new

I have repaired one before successfully and unsuccessfully. I tried JB weld and that lasted all of maybe a day the repair that lasted a few seasons before I tore it apart again was a 2 stage epoxy that we also used in conjunction with some aluminum that we riveted to the intake. I also tried to have it plastic welded but they said it wasn't possible because the intake is composed of several different plastics. My opinion would be to contact FAST themselves they recommend a product to use on their intakes that should work the best.

My fast has almost the exact crack. I tried jb weld it didn't last the drive home then loctite plastic weld it lasted for a month. Then I fiberglassed it. It lasted about 1000 miles. I'm still trying to figure out a permanent fix.

You have to make sure you get all the oil off the thing. I'd clean/prep it with the green cans of brake clean. That **** DOES melt plastic... be careful. Then I'd drill through holes along the crack and use a 2-part general epoxy, and make damn sure the interior was bonded through from interior to exterior. Back the interior side with speed tape and let the epoxy set with the manifold upside down. The stuff seems to want to flow forever 'till it sets. Don't forget to take the tape off after.
