Alright.

I've got it down to 2 ideas now, instead of the original 5 or whatever the **** it was.
Money is no issue for the 2 ideas, nor is simplicity. Going for tone. I still want it
loud.... don't get me wrong.

1) Simply convert to a MagnaMouth, replacing the resonator with
a 4" MagnaPack, #14419

2) Remove resonator anyways, and make I-Pipe a straight through 3"
Put a MagnaPack, #10416 in each tailpipe, install tips, and call it
a day.

Again, I know we've beaten the horse to death, but I do value the opinions of like
minded individuals.

I have a similar setup on my car, i have a 12 inch dynomax bullet in the I pipe, and a 4 inch magnapack out back with a single tip. lots of tone not much drone while driving. the camera sucks so u dont get the full volume but you can get an idea.

The resonator isn't going to hurt flow. Just leave it in there if you go with option 2. Of the 2 thats what I would do. The resonator is nothing but straight pipe. Sound like it to.

I agree and if it's not what you want then replace the resonator.

#1 basically like a LM2 sound wise.
So if you've heard (in and outside the car)a cammed,ORY-pipe, LS1engine with a LM2 and like it, then just go with #1.
Otherwise go with #2, but don't touch the I-pipe until you've had at least a few days to evaluate it's sound. Then if you still not happy I'd add the #14419 to the I-pipe.

I vote for a round 3.5" borla xr1 muffler

http://www.summitracing.com/search/D...?Ns=Rank%7cAsc

or if theres room on the ypipe a pair of glasspacks. these have shortest case IVe found.

http://www.summitracing.com/search/D...?Ns=Rank%7cAsc

maybe they will fit where the cats are supposed to go.

if more room is needed, maybe these will work

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SCH-63030/

or better yet, since you like it loud. go with true duals

I think you guys are right, and thanks for the advice.

I'm going to go with option 2, but leave the resonator in place for now. I was just worried about that bulge actually causing rasp. I think the ID of the LM1 resonator is around 3.75 or 4".

When the cam goes in, if it gets shitty, I'll either put the XR-1 in the I-Pipe for a hybrid stsyem, or just throw the 3" MagnaPack in there.

dug- I do want duals, but I'm not putting mild steel on stainless headers. This is to get me by until TSP makes their duals in stainless.

Again guys, I appreciate the comments

Even if the resonator were to cause some rasp I would think the two at the end would clean up the sound enough for it not to be an issue. But if not than you have room to tweak it. Good luck, now get it done, I want to hear that ****

Absolutely. I will post a vid when she's done. Won't leave you guys hanging.

Found a fabricator that actually uses STAINLESS rod. I hate the shops around here. All they weld with is mild steel.

didnt know tsp is making them in stainless now.

If you could fit a pair of these in the ypipe, they will get rid of the rasp and sound the best. They can be custom made in shorter lengths.

http://sweet-thunder.com/chambered_g...in.html#custom

isnt there a stainless dual available on Ebay?

I thought about those, but since I'm not going to run a cut out, flow is KEY. I don't want anything in there that will disrupt flow. Even those little fins on the inside, especially with the sweet thunders.

The better alternative would be a power stick, from classicchambered.com, that has a 3.5" body and a TRUE 3" flow path.

If rasp is still there and prevelant I very well may throw one of those in in place of the resonator and call it a day.

There is a stainless dual on ebay, but I've seen the installs and the pics and the clearence is ****. Besides, I like what TSP continues to do for the community and they will get my business.

Well, just to update.

I got home and started pulling some measurements. There's no way a muffler will fit on the passenger's tail pipe, and a 14" total length muffler would BARELY fit on the driver's.

Went on ahead and ordered a Magnaflow 14419 from Advance Auto for 48 bucks (gotta love coupons) and am just going to do a MagnaMouth for now.

Once the cam goes in, if it's really bad, I'll prob pony up and put a Borla S-Type in each tail pipe. That would fit perfectly.

How about a Dynomax #24246(4" diameter 12" case length, 409 S.S., $63), would this work?

I looked at those, actually. I also looked at a few Vibrant makes, roughly the same size.

I'll post a few pics tomorrow of the pipes with the tape measure next to them.

It's just weird when you actually get down and start measuring ****. You start to realize there's mandrel bends here and there; Some of which you really don't want to mess with bc you don't want to throw off angles and whatnot. Alot tougher that I thought.

I bet the SLP Powerflo kit #31086 is starting to sound like a good deal doesn't it?

Well that's kind of a bummer but at least your still making progress. The Magnaflow should make a considerable difference over the resonator.
