TSP Y pipe issues

TSP Y pipe issues
Well I've had issues with my Y-pipe since day one. GROUND CLEARANCE.
This isn't going on here to bash on TSP by any way. I'm lowering my car 2" and will literally scrape the road, so is it something I did wrong when I installed the y-pipe orrr what? I hope someone who ran into a solution for this issue or TSP themselves can give me a few pointers before I resort to altering the Y-pipe all together or just getting rid of it. I love the thing but when I scrape everything at stock height...2" lower will be ugly..

my driver side was always low, a good 1 to 1 1/2in from the bottom of the car. i had my car on jack stand for 3 days trying to get it to fit right. the only think i can say is put blocks under it and tighten everything down. mine wasnt good until i had a buddy with a lift welded them into place

It takes adjustment with the first piece of pipe that fits with the driver's side collector.
You'be be surprised how much clearence you can gain twisting it left or right and matching the rest of it up.

The other issue is your jamming a 3" round pipe under a car that doesnt have much tucking room to begin with thats why from the factory the driver side is oval not round. My driver side is basically on the heatdshield and there is no more room to get it up yet I still only have a pop-can worth of clearance. Just how these cars are designed.

dr_whigham is correct, usually we advise most customers to adjust that first pipe on the drivers side, and it usually solves the issues that they are having. Also, it helps to loosen the header bolts while doing this as they can offer for a little more adjustment as well.

+1. The TSP y-pipe was the poorest fitting part I've ever put on my car, and I've gonna through quite a few parts, i've gone through 3 different sets of headers, 3 different y-pipes, and 3 cats backs. But TSP chalks it up to installer error

The headers are great man! They fit perfect. The only reason I sold them and went with kooks headers was for simplicity of installing the kooks true duals. I'd recommend the TSP headers to anyone, but get a custom fabbed y-pipe.

Have you considered doing a more conservative drop? Lowering an F-body 2" basically slams it, which is not entirely practical for things like ground clearance and ride quality.

Y Pipe
Don't know if they are a sponsor, but you guys shouldn't forget Dr Gas/Spintech...they have a great oval pipe that can come close to replicating the original drivers side, but of course, it's larger diameter! Just a thought...

Thanks for the input guys, and actually I just did a set of BBK's tonight on a buddies car, if you are looking for just LT's and a ORY on a budget that's lower-able, then that's the way to go.
As far as loosening up the header bolts again I'd rather not go through all of that again, but I've got everything off already as far as coil packs, plugs/wires, etc., so I might as well give it a shot. So as far as I understand adjust the pipe on the drivers side that attaches directly from the collector on the header that leads into the Y-pipe, correct?
dr_whigham, I read your thread and looked at the pictures, It looked like in one of them, you cut part of your under-body...was I seeing this correctly? My ideas as far as fixing the issue were something similar, BFH'ing the pan and using a torch to assist, and then possibly the same remedy on the piping.
TSP made a great product in this, I'm going to chalk it up as installation error, for now....I'll do my best for my own sake and in good faith that I'm in the better %50 of having no fitment issues, maybe since I've neglected her for a few month's she woll be kind to me
And also as far as not lowering it 2", that's the beauty of being able to call it my car..
