Default Considering going from X back to Y

This is what my setup looks like....
http://home.att.net/~carlos.ramirez1...2/site1007.jpg

This is what it sounds like...
http://www.ls1sounds.com/true_duals/...rner-dumps.wma

I love it, I had it custom fabricated this past December and am very happy with the sounds it produces. It is 100% within my noise tolerance levels. Only thing is that yesterday I started the car up to go to work, realized I forgot my wallet, went back in the house and realized that the entire house was shaking. Sometimes I leave at 7am to work and feel horrible for my neihboors (whom luckily have been very tolerant), but if I were in their situation, not into cars, I don't know if I would be so tolerant.

So, I'm actually considering redoing my entire exhaust setup....

I currently have SLP LT's, 3" gutted cats, 3" True duals X, Flowtech Afterburners, dumped.

I'm considering the following setup....

QTP 1 3/4 LT's w/ AIR delete, QTP Dual Electric Cutout Y-pipe which flows into a nice 4" Scavenge Flowmaster collector, SLP 2 Out The Left Catback.

I'm kinda tired of the low hung SLP's. Between them, and the low hung mufflers in back, I must tip-toe diagonally over small to medium speedbumps.
Larger speed-humps would cause mayhem. I have seriously blocked traffic in parking garages after refusing to proceed over speebumps and grade changes.

The QTP's tuck high and are Primo in terms of quality. I might even pick up a few ponies, and I don't think I'll be sacrificing any peak horsepower with their dual cutout Y. If anything, I may lose a tad bit down low when compared to the X-pipe.

Am I thinking irrationally? Or am I simply thinking rationally for once?
Your opinions would be great.

I don't know if I'd want to give up that great sound you have...but I'm with you on the SLP's lack of ground clearance...it has actually taken some of the fun out of driving my SS. I can't stand that gut-churning sound of dragging them across speed bumps...I have a set of stainless Kooks sitting here waiting to go on...

I'm in the same boat as you. I had QTP LT's, 2.5 duals with X pipe and Moroso spiral flow mufflers, and I'm going back to a Mufflex Y Pipe, and SLP Dual/Dual catback (still have my LT's). BTW, I still have AIR on my LT's but I put block off plates on them, just in case VA starts doing smog testing and I gotta put my cats back on. I'm really gonna miss that true dual sound with those spiral flows, DAMN did that thing sound bad ***! . Good luck man

When Mikey (Rapid Mtrsprts) did my H/C setup, he removed the AIR system...I still bought headers with the fittings in case I have to reinstall the AIR for emissions purposes later on ...I'm just using block-off plates.

I ended up going from true duals to GMMG with ORY. The sound is almost just as loud and the Butt-o-meter was about the same. The only difference I could tell is that my RPMs didnt drop as fast when I went back to the Y pipe.

I am running FLP 1 3/4 LTs /offroad pipes, electric cutout in the I-pipe, and a SLP 2 out the left catback. I just brought the car out of storage today and drove it for the first time with this setup. With the cutout closed, this muffler is great. It is not very loud if you aren't on it, but when you get on it, man it just screams in a mean way...like a growl...I don't hear any rasp. It is a really nice note for a street car. I opened the cutout a few times..there is no way I could drive around with it open all of the time, that will definitely be a track only deal.

I will have a TSP 231/237 done if a few weeks. After that I can get you some sound clips..should sound very similar to your proposed setup.

I am also AIR delete w/block offs.

I actually thought about that same thing I would like to lower my car some and quit draggin on LARGE dips. It sucks sometimes, but man..... the sound that you can feel in the chest is woody material Im still undecided. Id go with the Hooker catback though. Its the best flowing out with only like a 3 RWHP loss compared to a cutout. Ask Jason @ Thunder about it.

So you would say your current setup is louder than the SLP Loudmouth with an otherwise stock exhaust.

I am in the exact same situtation. I am seriously debating on putting a Y and a Hooker catback on my car. I have 2 buddies that run it and it sounds badass.

Besides SLP 2OTL, Hooker's my other favorite.

Just go with some quieter mufflers, I have an LT1 with flowmaster catback in my family, and my magnaflow mufflers in my true duals setup aren't MUCH louder than the flowmaster catback, and quieter than the loudmouth I had before this setup.
