I just discovered the megamouth SSRA. Both ssras are cheaper than the others on ws6store.com. how does the airflow of this one compare to the chrs1313? I don't know which one to get haha

I'm more interested in 'Which is the best one if I want to keep air conditioning?'

For you, fucter, I'd go with the Chrs1313 AC version. There's a super long-*** thread about it. Chris posts a lot in it. Some good info in there.

Here's some good pics https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...air-worth.html

Here's some track results:

Previous old best on motor was
60' 1.74
1/8th 7.856 @89.12
1/4 12.309 @ 109.73

todays new best was
60' 1.674
1/8th 7.654 @90.28
1/4 12.030 @ 111.87

I'm still leaning towards the SSRA. Seems like more cutting and modding are necessary for the chrs1313.

Do you have to cut the hood latch with the ac version of the chrs1313?

Not that I'm aware of. Just the non AC as far as I know.

I'm pretty much choosing between the mega mouth SSRA and the ac version of the chrs1313. I don't want to cut anything except for the airbox of course lol. Out of them two, which do you guys recommend?

Then the mega mouth is out. It's for cars without A/C. If you're not planning on removing it, then you'll want the other SSRA that says "cars with A/C", or the A/C version of the Chris1313.

I've got the A/C version of the SSRA, and the longest part of the install was doing the free ram air mod to fit it (burned through like 10 dremel cutting discs, that plastic is freaking thick!). And like SSCamaro99_3 said, you have to drill 5 small holes in the bottom of the front bumper to attach the lower scoop. I went with the SSRA because I saw a lot of good results for the AC version, it's light, and it's hard to see unless you're looking for it (or so I've been told around town here), also it's not as expensive. And even though it's plastic, it's still pretty durable as long as you aren't running into curbs at 25+.

I'm willing to remove the ac just not willing to cut or hack anything except for the airbox of course. The SSRA seems better to me than the ftra. If I'm gonna remove the ac besides that and the free ram air, what else needs done with the megamouth to install?

Well keeping the ac. SSRA or chrs1313 is what I've narrowed my choices down to. Which one has a bigger opening?

If you're willing to ditch the AC just get the non AC version of the Chrs1313. There's no "hacking" anything. Unbolt the top of triangle that's directly under the hood latch, and cut the two small stanctions of the bottom of the triangle.

Takes 5 minutes and looks clean, like it never even happened. It doesn't violate the integrity of the strength of the latch. I don't see why more people that are ALREADY deleting AC have such an issue with it. It's a useless "brace" that you're cutting.

If you do keep the AC, I still vote Chrs1313 due to the sealed system.

What does air condition have to do with a tranny cooler and stall?

Bc the ac versions are smaller and will leave room for a trans cooler. How much of a performance difference could there be between the ac and non ac versions?

If you're keeping the AC get the standard SSRA. Good quality and fit with an OEM look.

That's what I'm leaning towards. How much more power could there be between the ac and non ac version?

I think I'm going with the standard ssra. Keeping ac and not worried about breaking it bc its plastic. My cars not a dd and I don't drive it like an idiot to hit anything. Anybody think this is a good choice? Plus I can get it for $159 brand new

+1 on that. i bought the whole SLP ram air kit and it did great for me also. BEFORE SOMEONE HAS A CHANCE TO SAY IT, yes SLP maybe overpriced but I personally thought it was worth every penny and i had all my a/c stuff. the kit caome with everything and instructions on what to exactly to do.

Good choice. It's a pliable, but sturdy material so even if it's scrapes it won't break.
