Default DD in big trouble need some desperate help

UPDATE 2: Clean the injectors by taking out the fuel rail and everything is good just that I have a leak or the fuel pressure regulator is bad

Willing to sell racetronix pump with whole bucket assembly and practically brand new sending unit for $170 let me know if anyone interested

UPDATE: Didn't state this but when I installed the pump I didn't changed the sock in the bucket only the one for the pump that comes with the racetronix kit, and I also have a brand new fuel filter and tank is full of gas

Ok here is the story

I ran out of gas on my 01 z28 Friday afternoon, put some gas in it it started right up and it drove find for an hour or so, after that my car seemed to loose power and SES light started blinking which means a misfire,

Went to autozone and got a code for a misfire on cylinder 7, took the car to my auto class at my local community college and I changed the fuel pump for a racetronix pump and hooked everything up, i primed the pump several times and it started right up and seemed to work fine.

Im still having the issues with the misfire and seems in the morning my car has to be cranked at least twice to work, so is this normal for a racetronix pump, seems I have to prime it at least twice??

Here is a video really rough idle

did you undo the battery at install?

just a thought......
even if you did,try undoing the battery again & see what it does? it might need to clear codes & relearn?

good luck!

Have u verified fuel pressure? Maybe running out of gas has nothing to do with the misfire if it ran fine for an hour after putting gas into it..maybe coincidental? Id check #7 plug/wire and coil/injector if the only code is cyl 7 misfire

well maybe I speculated, maybe it was like 30m or 20m but for sure the problem did happen right after I ran out completely out of gas since it was running really good as far as I knew before the incident

check all the plugs, replace the fuel filter, run injector cleaner, clean the maf/air filter, inspect o2's.. I'd check to see if each cylinder is firing individually too with the plugs and arc them to somewhere.

good idea, I did run injector cleaner twice and nothing yet so maybe what im thinking it could be stuck on the fuel filter not letting fuel in? ill check fuel pressure it should give me a good idea?

If it's telling you there is a misfire on a specific cylinder I would personally start there. Call me old school! Kids these days....

Or it could be your windshield fluid sensor.

I would pull the spark plug and plug wire and inspect for cracks/burnt wire etc.. or replace if due.. You can swap coils with another cyl and see if it follows that cylinder, or plugs wires and coils lol..but personally I wouldnt swap coils unless ur out of options

your fuel pressure should go up to around 55-60 psi and hold id recheck your pump installation

Way too low for fuel pressure. LSX engines need about 60psi.

Me thinks you pinched or crushed a line when you put the gas tank back up.

Don't hold me to it but I don't think the injectors would effect the fuel pressure. I would drop the tank/ open my trap door up and check for a bad hose clamp, kinked hose, etc. The #7 miss could be an injector. When the injectors went out on my L98 I could unplug the injector and it made no difference and the plug was as white as snow. It ran fine cold but got worse as it ran.

ok well thats my only hope that the hose is bad or something, for the record I didn't replace the sock that is on the bucket, only the one that came with the racetronix kit which is the one for the pump not sure if it makes a difference

a blinking SES light means random, multiple misfires, not isolated to one hole. my guess is when autozone pulled the codes, they seen many of them and told you that one code thinking they were all the same.
