Pacesetter 1 3/4" vs TSP 1 7/8" headers
For the record, I have zero complaints from the Pacesetters, but I am very excited to try out the TSP's. I ran the Pacesetter's since 2006, when I was just a bolt-ons car.
I am also going from 3" Duals, x-pipe setup with 12" bullets dumped to a TSP SS y pipe, FM merge into a custom 4" single exhaust dumped at the rear of the car.
Props to Aaron at TSP for getting the headers to me so fast.
I've installed TSP headers on a buddy's car, and by far the easiest header install I've ever done, and the quality is amazing. They can't be beat.
this makes me feel better when i get a new set. the SLP's that came on my 01 are FUBAR
Yeah to quiet it down some. With the 370, cam, 12.1:1 comp, Lt's, 3" duals with 12" bullets dumped, it is a bit rowdy. Don't get me wrong, I love it, I am just wanting something a bit more refined now. I had that setup since 2006.
Around here, I keep reading (newspapers), hearing about checkpoints where they are looking for any/all violations (including vehicle violations), along with the normal sobriety stuff. The way the car was, there was no way in hell it wouldn't raise questions that I did not want to deal with.
I should have done before/after dyno's but the car is already torn down.
TSP did a back to back dyno of the 2 headers on a stock LS1 actually. It is posted here somewhere as I just read it the other day. Let me see if I can find it.

Being that the TSP's are stainless, they should last MUCH longer. My pacesetters are coated, have about 10K miles on them, never seen rain, salt, snow and you see what they look like. The TSP's may turn colors, but won't rust away and I actually kinda like the different color tints of heated stainless.

FYI-Don't let POR15 drip into your eye. It really isn't too much fun running into the house, while stripping down to jump into the shower and use soap to clean it out. That stuff dries WAY too fast.

been there, done that. i had to have my dad use paint thinner to get it off my eye lids. FYI-Don't let POR15 drip into your eye. It really isn't too much fun running into the house, while stripping down to jump into the shower and use soap to clean it out. That stuff dries WAY too fast.
Safety glasses, bro!
I got into the habbit of not getting underneath a car w/out safety glasses....it came from getting sick of getting mud and rust in my eye when working on my Jeep.
I know, trust me. I was frustrated with them fogging up (humidity/heat) and not being able to see.
