Default Heads or Intake first?

Well trying to decide which mod I should do first. I thought would have enough cash to do a H/C and new intake/TB. Only going to have enough to either do just heads or new intake/TB. Any idea which one I should start with? I will eventually do both but just not this summer. I will have SLP lid, SLP MAF and TSP 1 7/8 headers with exhaust cutout and flowmaster catback, (may change muffler to magnaflow if have enough cash). Was looking into getting a Fast 90 with NW 90 TB and unsure of what heads to start with. My over all goal is to get at or above 400whp. I do have a shop in town that can do porting work so thats also a option. Thanks for the help

Any suggestions on heads to go with? Will have to spend less then 2k on the heads. Had been looking at some from TSP. If I change the heads any other things I should change on the motor at same time?

What cam are you looking at? Well with any cam your going to need pushrods and valve springs but since your buying aftermarket heads you'll be covered on springs just tell them what cam you'll be using. Depending on mileage I would consider changing the oil pump and I would definately at least put a LS2 chain in it while its apart. If you do decide to change the oil pump get a new O ring, it might keep you from doing it twice like I did.

+1

I would do bolt on parts first and then do the H/C combo at once.. but thats just me.

I would also recommend TSP 5.3 heads (stage 2.5)

If your going for heads, get some tsp stage 2.5 ls6 heads. They are better the the 5.3 and not much more money.

I really have not looked into what cam I would go with. I know there are guys on here that can to do a custom grind so probably go that route. My biggest concern is wondering which one will require me to change alot of stock parts. Also this is my first time working with a LS1, for the cam install what all needs to be done? Can you install with just removing the fans and radiator or does more needed to be taken out to have enough room? Thanks for the help everyone. Kind of learning as I go here, so much information to take in from this site I love it.

I'm with bestlude, mods always wind up costing more than planned do the intake now.

Get new KS and a harness, get a new OPSU,get some new 30lb injectors and a tune.

Now your ready for the H/C swap when you get the money.

Me personally am going with bolt ons first so ill have everything to support h/c when that time does come. Just recently bought a ported fast90/90 bc I know ill want it anyway when I do h/c.
