Default 1 3/4 vs. 1 7/8 headers

alright guys i would just like to know what you guys think iv done some searching and iv read that 1 7/8 headers are just over kill on a stock cube ls1 and actually lose Hp on the top end but iv also heard the exact opposite i have pacesetter 1 3/4 right now but i just put my clutch threw the floor board and destroyed the pacesetters would i benefit going with the 1 7/8?

Good work dr whigham

If I were buying headers the 1 7/8" would be a no brainer.

According to Tooley@TEA the size of your exhaust valve plays an important roll in what size of headers you use.

I had the same question and posted a thread and what got me into the 1 7/8 is the fact u have room for growth if u plan to go bigger cubes in the futures then ur set u dnt need to get new headers so its a advantage u have dwn the road

this was one of my main reasons for purchsaing these headers as i may go 400+cubes over winter and im a 370 now a little more then stock. plus the stainless steel and build quality is very very good. $499+shipping compared to other companies like kooks who are $1k.

See what I'm talking abt he plans to go bigger so to 600 cubes so when he does his headers are good to go now I idk if ur planing to go bigger or not but I'm like him I already got a LQ9 6.0 on my engine stand that hopefully will be done in 6 months nd that's the reason I ordred today my TSP 1 7/8 now I dnt knw if ur planing to go bigger 1 3/4 by TSP are great headers for 5.7 however if dwn the road u want to go biger ur ggona have to sell those headers to buy 1 7/8 like I said u have room for growth maybe a cam mod or a bigger intake and TB idk maybe a valve job idk u name it will only benefit to havethe bigger primaries when u start adding more mods cus bigger primaries on ur headers the more ur engine can breath so it wnt hurt u at all but if ur on a tight budget by all means the TSP 1 3/4 are one of the best dwn the road if u go bigger and u got more money u can get the 1 7/8

1 7/8 sounds like a good choice, room to grow. I would also invest in a bulletproof bellhousing hahaha.

heads cam or nitrous 1 7/8

Well I guess for the price I might reconsider goin the BBK route & go with the 1 7/8 TSP's since they are SS. Thats worth a couple hundred more for the stainless for sure.
