Default New FAST, new issue

Ok. The old FAST 78 issue was dealt with. Turned out to be a busted vacuum cap on the rear of the passenger's valve cover. Well, over the weekend I installed a FAST 92 / NW 92 set up. Also filled in the drilled EGR hole that I had posted another thread about.

Car runs like a champ. I'm an M6, and even my shifts are smoother, as odd as that sounds.

The issue is on the 2nd start-up after initial (it idled for 3 minutes on initial start up) my "ASR OFF" and check engine light are on. I haven't had a check engine light since I put on LT's and wasn't tuned. Since the Frost tune I've had no issues.... until this 92.

When I installed the 92 I took the top shell off since it was full, and I mean FULL of oil. Cleaned it the best I could and threw the top and bottom in the dishwasher. Came out nice and clean. New rope gasket / rtv, filled EGR hole, and painted satin black.

All bolts torqued to spec, 2 step sequence, ya-da-da-da.

Since I left to go to the dock on a Sunday night, no chance to get the codes pulled, but what the hell would cause my ASR to stay off like that? All I did was adjust the throttle cable for the Nick Williams.

Cruise control still works perfect as well. I know I should get the code pulled, just checking to see if anyone else ran into this issue or not. Currently on the rig until the 20th....

Car runs absolutely great, to say the least. Just went 170 miles with it one way.

Only other thread I could find half way related to the TCS / ASR (traction control) issue.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...take-swap.html

Well, after more reading, I'm thinking it's MAP related.

Seem like I'm on the right track?

Where did you mount the map sensor? The back or front top part of the intake?

The back in the normal spot. Used a dab of RTV on the outside along with a holder clamp type thing like I had on my fast 78

A MAP issue is easy to diagnose if you have any kind of logging software. An small air leak from it would just cause idling issues I would think.

Yeah, I thought about the logging equip, but i have none. Car idles perfectly though, and the MAP has a clamp, along with the intakes new rope gasket, so I'm positive it isn't vacuum related.

Just kinda stumped. I'll know a HELL of a lot more when I get the code read on the 20th.

Just seeing if anyone else ran into this issue in the past.

Did you happen to disconnect the TCU connector by the battery? That would do it!

I very well may need to go back over that, but I definitely remember plugging it back in (Of course I say that....). Wouldn't I lose my cruise control though as well?

I don't know right off if it does, I just remember having mine unplugged one time and spending 10 minutes trying to figure out what was wrong.

Anyway good luck, it's probably something simple/quick to fix!

Got the code pulled a minute ago.

P0107 - MAP SENSOR LOW CIRCUIT

Thoughts? Faulty MAP, or is this due to the larger plenum of the FAST/NW 92?

This thing was perfect before I changed the intake.

it's the larger plenum, it will set that code every time. try replacing the MAP just to be safe, and unplug the battery, let it sit for a while and then reconnect the battery to clear the memory and maybe when the PCM relearns it will compensate the readings or you might have to tweak your tune.

Well now I'm reading it could be MAF related as well. Doesn't explain the PCM disabling my traction control though.

I'm all about some ideas / opinions guys. Anyone else ran into this issue?

Checked with Frost. He said I shouldn't need additional tuning for the 92....

Any other ideas guys? Like I said, MAP was fine in the LS6 and the FAST 78. Is it really the larger plenum?

How are the wires going to the map sensor bc sensors don't go bad as often as people think and I can't see a bug enough Plenum increase to throw codes but I could be wrong..also You'd be suprised how hard it is to see a broken wire or one pulled slightly out of weather pack connector...I had this happen before just grow plugging and unplugging a sensor many times...you can also use a voltmeter and see if your getting the correct 5 volt reference signal as well as switched 12 volt signal...I'm not 100% on the pin locations though should be in wiring diagrams...good luck

My MAP sensor went bad after the first FAST install and throw the same code, turned out the groove on the MAP sensor was covered in RTV, apparently I didn't let the RTV sit long enough to dry out before put the intake back in the car, causing it to melt and messed up the MAP sensor.

I guess I need to pull the intake and check the port as well as the wires.

****!!! I REALLY didn't want to do this!
