Default 2000 WS6 Making Howling Sound

My 2000 WS6 just about a month ago started makin this howling sound at idle, then it like went away and now it's back again. I don't know what it could be, but I'd like to figure it out and fix it before it breaks. It only does it at idle an as soon as the car is revved up at all it stops till it revvs back down to idle. It also only lasts until the car has been running for about 10 minutes. What could this be?

I remember my old SVT Contour had what was called "moosing"... It was the IAC sticking open and making this LOUD howling noise through the intake bellows. Not sure if the IAC on the F bod would do this, but man was that thing loud. Replaced the IAC and it went away.

That's weird. My 2000 ws6 is doing the same thing!! I have no idea how to describe the sound. It's almost like a vibration, hollow, humming sound. It worried me for a few days, then it went away for a while, but it started doing it again.

I installed longtubes and motor mounts a while back. The noise may be related to that but I honestly can't tell.

lol sad to say i took my car out after sitting for a year and had the same problem last night. I think my Bellow to air filter has an opening somewhere.

It's the AIR pump. Not a big deal just annoying. Rip the AIR system out and it will go away, that's what I did

Deff not the AIR stuff for me. I took all of that out.

And the AIR pump only stays on for about a minute as opposed to 10 like Jimmy described.

Rampage Jackson under your hood?

Honestly though, make sure it isn't the easy/free stuff like a loose hose end or brake booster hose. Try the smoke test since it only happens at idle anyways.
