What is the device in front bottom of the drivers side fender?

Default What is the device in front bottom of the drivers side fender?
Ok making my 99 ss a drag car and removing all un-needed weight and emmission crap from my car. Removed the egr stuff off the headers(egr headers were on it when I bought it) and the large rubber tubing went down to a cannister in the front of the drivers side fender. There is a couple vacuum lines and electrical plugs down there. Can I just unplug and remove all that stuff? Don't care about ses lights. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the air pump and yes it can be removed. I'm actually gonna be taking mine out too

Ya you can ditch it but u need to tune it out or it will throw light

Hi all ... I'm in the search for a working AIR pump .. mine is totally rusted and short circuited... I have no possibility now for tune out the see light for this and I have to pass emission test and others for registration of my TA in my country ... so if someone got one which is no more useful...... please drop me a message !!

I see that but I think I'll have problems with the controls .. if they check visually ... at least I could leave it place un plugged and with a tuned out for the SES light... but .... here in France I have no way to tune it out .. I plan to buy something like HPtuner once .. but not now ...quite expensive ...

Well if you guys have some good deal for me please let me know (lol as everyone get rid of them..it shouldn't be to expensive !! )
