Default Chance to buy SLP equal length headers

I can get SLP equal length headers locally for 200 and they still look really nice. Question: What type of y pipe is needed to make this fit my 00 Z28? Are these good headers, I assume they are?

Wow thanks for the help. I did a search but only found all the threads about the slp's hanging low, and the y pipe being very low. So again my question is what y pipe should I get with these, is there one that fits and doesn't sit as low?

Pass on them...they have the worst ground clearance of all header designs, and some independent dyno testing in the past proved they didn't provide the power gains that SLP promised (hence why the poster above told you to do a forum search).

Yeah I read that, but Im stock ride height and didn't plan on lowering more than a 1/2". But I can also get BBK's with y pipe for about $400. So maybe I should just avoid the headache.

The time length headers hang down low. The new design is not so bad.

I bought a set of slp headers I believe they are the older style not too sure as they were used. I have my car lowered about 1" and I don't really have clearance issues at all with the actual headers, a friend and I made a custom ory though because like you I couldn't get any answers on a comparable y pipe that I could substitute. My y pipe does scrape really badly but that is because we routed it just underneath the tranny crossmember on the drivers side, that's going to get re routed here soon.

If anything for 200 and they are in good shape, buy them and resell them, 200 is a steal for them

The old style is the tuned length, there the only ones that hang really low. The equal length is the new style, and your best bet is to get a SLP y-pipe; if you can find one!
If you can't find a y-pipe pass on them!

Agreed with 2win_ss. Don't pass on them, like we both said, $200 for those headers is a steal steal steal. Buy them and resell them if you can't find a set up that will work for you, I got lucky to have a friend that builds sand rails, don't know if anybody has heard of wicked sand toys, but that's my buddies business, he and I sat down and fabbed up a y pipe for my car, granted I only did the cutting he told me to and he did all the welding lol but it was still something I wanted to have a part in and learn as much as possible

Well if your are lucky enough to have a good shop or skilled friend to fab, or help fab up a new Y-pipe then go for it. Otherwise I would still pass on them, but that's your call!
