Default Raptr Cam n 243 heads "build"..Now a 5.3 car

DYNO NUMBERS POST 13
UPDATE PG.3.Nothin crazy. just progress
UPDATE PG.4. Painting engine bay and wire mod....more painting soon
Page 4 valve marks found on a couple pistons
burnout video page 4, now a 5.3 car

idk if you call this a build thread or not

its just a cam swap and 243's that have no work done to them.

my engine developed a nasty tick that followed the rpms and i was going to do a cam swap and spray a 100 shot. but with reading the horror stories of a lifter collapsing i didnt want that to happen to me. so new lifters and why not a pair of 243's since i have the money cause im not gonna spray

Parts :

Raptr Cam Kit with titanium retainers
243 heads
LS7 Lifters
Racetronix Fuel pump with hotwire kit
LS6 Intake
Pacesetter Longubes and ORY
Magnaflow Catback
Tick Stage 1 rebuilt T56
LS7 CLutch (steel flywheel)

my 5th and 6th broke last year so i had my trans rebuilt by Tick

i did the oil pump and timing chain last year so no worries there.

here is the garage i was doing the mods in. big thanks to SLOHAWK780

found on the passenger side a new valve spring and one new pushrod.hmmmm

this below spark plug that looks like its sticking out far is. because it was only in 3 threads. i thought back to everything i have to the car. i have never pulled the plugs. only have had it a year. when i did the headers i didnt ull the plugs out

here is the cause of the tick noise. and on the right is the newer rod

lately it has been very hot and my dyno numbers are going to be rather low. it is getting tuned on monday the 9th. anyone know what i can expect?

opinions??

Great pictures on your build. Usually they can do sae numbers for weather correction and of course your standard numbers. Whats is the specs on that cam? And did you use different length pushrods for your 243 heads? Did you Get them milled or cleaned up any? I bought my 243 heads with 50,000 miles on em that looked in immaculate condition but i had them sent to AI and the found two bent exhaust valves..

423 whp and it kept climbing to 6300 rpms, stock rod bolts so not gonna spin it higher to be safe.

385 tq at 5000 rpms. pulls great. gonna do some runs soon and hopefully the track soon

Was that through a cut-out? Either way, stout for sure, and even more so if that was through the Magnaflow!

What springs came with your kit?

That's not even the most impressive part about this whole build. The most impressive part is its making this power with the mileage that's on the motor and their was still cross hatch on the cylinder walls ! I forgot the exact mileage , maybe you can tell us autogeek23. The ls1 motor has proven itself once again

I'm about to cam mine (Ed Curtis custom grind) with 149k on the clock

******* unbelieveable #'s through the entire exhaust, brother, especially since that Magnaflow is a crossflow muffler. I bet that thing runs like a raped ape now.

i love it. a video will be posted soon.

the mileage is 168,xxx.

they had an issue while tuning though. there is a random misfire that occurs. thought it might be an O2 sensor not working right.
