Default Looking for some advice

I have a 99 Z28, mild mods are done like LS6 intake, Pacesetter LTs, 3" ORY, V-force muffler (never heard of it til I bought the car), ported TB, and free mods. The advice I'm looking for is I'm thinking of getting a cam kit next, like MS4. Is that a good idea, or are there other things I should do first. Its a M6, and I am planning on replacing the rear over the winter, and next year planning on probably rebuilding the motor next year possibly with a stroker kit. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also if you do think the cam kit is a good idea, what LSA should I get to be a decent streetable car. Thanks guys

I am in the same boat you are in (with similar mods)

Have you begun working on your suspension? I am sure with these upgrades, you have to be having some bad wheel hop.

Some of these cams like cars with 3.73 or 4.10 gears to get them to the power band. Since you were thinking of doing a rear, couldn't hurt to throw in some gears while you are there. I would check around, see which cam responds better to which gears-

I would suggest you call the good folks at one of our sponsors such as Texas Speed and Performance. They will be able to tailor what type of cam to fit your needs along with any future build plans.

Being an M6 I would say go for the rear end first. They tend to go a lot faster in M6 cars and with the extra power a cam would give you it would significantly increase the chances of breaking it. What fun is a cam if you can't afford to replace the rear when it breaks? lol

Not a dd. Just a toy for me. I do drive it here and there. Won't take it to the track because of the horrible 10 bolt. I was thinking of just saying screw it and start the rear end fund. And I do plan on doing 4.10 gears when I do swap out the rear. No use putting money into the 10 bolt

Im also debating on a building up a trans, rear, and suspension before anything more than bolt ons just so i can take sticky tires to the track and have good times and still be generally stock or just bolt ons
