04 truck intake or NNBS truck intake, better?
Recently picked up a takeoff NNBS truck intake, the one with the stainless fuel rails and 4 bolt throttle body. I like the look (and durability) of the stainless fuel rails, but would need to get a 4 bolt DBC throttle body, or an adapter. Going on an LM4 5.3 in my conversion. Is it worth switching to the newer intake? Any idea of the power difference? Not a high RPM race deal, just want a peppy street car with A4 trans. Hood height isn't an issue either.
TIA, Jim

The newer nnbs/tbss intake is supposed to be a better all around intake from what I've read. Kinda of like ls1 to ls6 difference. I would ask this question in the performancetrucks.net forum for a better answer.

Yes there better, its been reported that on 6.0 LQ4 with mods it gained 15 rwhp and 18 lbtq after a re-tune. I think realistic gain on most LS with mods is probably 10hp range. Besides the performance gain they look a hell of lot better than the old truck intakes. They have less tabs and boss on top for the cover. The stainless fuel rail and 87 mm tb are big improvements and reasons alone for me to make the switch. A big part of the performance gain is do the bigger 87 mm tb. The camaro 90mm tb will adapt to TBSS intake.
