The fan relays have two wires from the PCM. One triggers low speed, the other high speed.

In low speed, the relays feed the fans in series and each fan sees half voltage. In high speed, the are paralleled. each fan sees full voltage.

The fans are held off when the engine is cold or the vehicle is traveling above 30 MPH or so.

The system works pretty good as is. Why do you want to change to manual control? What mods does this car have? Do you still have A/C?

If you wanna do the mod, I've explained the mechanics behind how the fans work.

You should be able to search for schematics and component locations.

yes u can. i have it in 2 switches. its VERY EASY to do... and this guy ^ helped me with it once too. to be honest it was a VERY useful thing to do. sitting in traffic and watching the temps go up isnt a good sight although there is nothing to worry about lol. i dont see why you want it in 2 switches but anyway all you need is 2 on-off switches, the diagram from electronics section and some tape. there are 2 wires that triggers the fans blue and green. hack them and wire them to where you want to mount your swtiches and then ground each one separately. i can take photos if you want to. doing them this way WILL trigger you ses light.

If you have a way to program the PCM to turn the fans on at a lower temp, it would be better than switches. Let the computer do the work for you.

Paul, take no offense bro, I was just simply asking if 2 switches would work. All the ones I've seen done were on 1 switch.. just simply wanted a straight answer if 2 switches would work..

Now, I'm assuming they will both come on by themselves with the switches off. Will the lights come on when the fans turn on?

No offense taken.

I agree, it's good to run the fans while staging at the track to cool the motor.

Having said this, it won't help unless you've replaced the thermostat to say a 160 degree unit.

Don't forget to shut the fans when the tree says go.

As I recall, the PCM grounds wires to the relays causing them to close thus sending power to the fans.

You should be able to simply ground these wires while keeping them connected to the PCM and the fans will operate. This way, the PCM will still have fan control when you're not at the track.
