Default Texas Speed Longtubes

Simple question.
I just ordered a set of these:
http://www.texas-speed.com/p-704-tex...-3-x-pipe.aspx

Now obviously since this is the offroad pipes, I'll need a tune. My question: how badly is it going to run while I take it from my home to the tuner? I'll do the install myself, of course, but I don't have my own dyno, and it's about 60 miles to get there.

You may have a check engine light and it might run a little lean. But if you drive it easy you shouldn't have a problem.

You'll throw a CEL due to lack of cats, but you'll be fine. I ran mine for almost 3 months without a mail order.... about 6k miles. You'll be fine driving to the tuner.

I assumed the CEL would go off, since the after-cat O2 sensors won't be plugged in. I just wanted to be sure it wasn't going to cripple the car and make me drive 14MPH.

As mentioned above, you'll be fine driving to the tuner. I've driven mine with full exhaust + ls6 intake on a stock tune for months without any problems - I'm awaiting a full H/C/I build over the winter to get her dynoed.

I'll have to tune again after H/C. This time around it will be Blackwing CAI, ported MAF and throttlebody, LS6 intake, TS longtubes and offroad x-pipe.

A tune isn't even necessary....but a good idea, yes.
I drove mine for over a year without a tune after I installed my LT's.
good luck! Enjoy it!!!

Don't worry you won't have any problems without a tune besides a CEL.

Like everyone says only thing thats going to happen is a SES light for the cats. Drove mine for 1 1/2 years like this. Never had any issue with it.

Not entirely true. Have you guys had your car on a dyno for a baseline pull? I know when I did, mine leaned out dangerously especially at WOT. Just because it "feels" ok, doesn't necessarily mean it's running right. Without testing with a wideband O2, you're just guessing and hoping it's running ok.

Not really likely to be an issue in this particular case. I don't plan to drive it other than to get it from my garage to the tuners shop. I can probably resist the temptation to plant my foot for that long, at least.

You'll be alright. I drove my ws6 for a couple weeks without a tune and I just put headers on a friends c5z this week and we drove it Texas Speed about an hour fifteen away from us to pick up spark plugs and wires driving "spiritedly" along the way lol

Little perturbed at the moment.
When I order my longtubes and X-pipe, their web site indicated that they would be out of stock until "late October". Now here it is, November 5th, and I've not heard anything. I've emailed them with no reply. Just emailed them again. Anybody else having problems with them?

That will be next, if there's no reply to the second email. By that point, it'll be simply to demand a refund, if they're not any more responsive to customers than seems to be the case.
I work nights, which makes contact with people during "normal" hours problematic.

Just call them brother. Matt & Aaron both are great with customer service. They stay on the phone A LOT, so they may not have had a chance to get to your email yet.
