friend of mine is selling his old fast 85mm intake for 550 dollars is it worth in...its from 2004

No such thing as a FAST 85. Their is a 78, 90, 92, and 102 and thats it.

Unless he ported it and put a BBK TB on it.

If I had 550 I'd save just a bit more to get either a used 90 or a new/used 92

Could be a ported 78. If I recall, before the 90 came out, someone was porting them for larger tb's.

Its a Ported Fast78 the mouth of the intake is ported out to 85mm, I did this mod to my Ls6 intake & its not a bad mod only 5mm smaller than a 90 so it should perform similar but not quite as well, like others have said see if you can get it for cheaper!!!
