Default Thoughts on this intake setup

I have been looking for a while @ the Fast intakes but I have a hard time wanting to drop 850.00 on a intake, and 300-400 on a TB, and whatever it costs for the Fuel upgrades for a 102 if I go that way. I need a bigger intake on my T/A and I want to start to mod my Vette as well.. This is what I have found online..

Typhoon 96 mm intake 310.00 shipped

LS2 102 mm TB 130 shipped

Fuel rail kit for the intake 140 shipped.

All these parts are brand new on Ebay and under 600.00 I could have an entire setup where as for 800-900 I would only have a intake with a fast. I read on here with all the cons like heat soak, and weight but would like to hear from people who actually run these. The LT1 intake and L98 intakes were metal and there are some very fast cars out there with those intakes on them. I dont want to hear you get what you pay for type talk from people who never have ran these. I would like legit facts from people who have this setup or has had it in the past please.

Right now I have a 383 stroker with a pretty big cam, ported 243's and a LS6 with a ported TB. On a mustang Dyno it made 410 rwhp and on a Dynocom it made 460rwhp.. I would say on a Dynojet its around 430-440rwhp. I believe the LS6 is really holding the car back.. Car right now traps 119 mph and is a full weight car with spare tire and everything.

Heat soak is a hoax propagated by know-nothings.
These are not wet manifolds and they run way cooler
than the water jacket.

I have not yet seen any straight-up dyno or flow
comparos between various FAST and the Pro Products
96mm. I've seen the 85mm show slightly better than
the LS6, though this is vendor data. I have not seen
anybody porting the aluminum intakes as a service,
or any results, though the construction looks like it
gives good access to everything (removable bottom
plate) on the PP intakes.

If Pro Products has their own 96mm TB I'd say go for
that, over the LS2, if you have a cable throttle setup
now. Are not LS2s DBW?

Fuel rails should be part of the ProProducts intake kit.

The whole intake, Throttle body, and fuel rail kit is 770.00 shipped if you by it in a bundle. I found each product seperate and its around 200 less..

The 96 MM intake looks great and you are right there looks to be alot of porting that could be had. The Throttle bodies I have seen are Cable driven LS2 style that are 92 or 102.. I am looking @ the 102 and might have the intake ported to match.

I am still rocking the stock LS6 intake on my Trans Am and if I do get a new intake I will just place that LS6 intake on my 98 vette..

I know a couple local guys who had the 85mm Typhoon intakes and then swapped over to a fast 92 or 102 and with a different tune and other mods gained 20-30 hp. Thats excpected going from a 85mm-102mm is a big change.

I see in your sig that you trap 112.. Is that before the Intake/cam or after?
