Default Which intake best accomodates my heads and cam?

So I currently have a torquer II cam with stock heads and and an LS6 intake on my 1998 Z28 but I want to see what if any horsepower will I potentially gain by going to an aftermarket intake. What the new setup will be is the Torquer II cam, 245cc ported 799's heads, and whatever intake is best to fit. I just don't want to have to tear it apart later to move to a better intake. I was thinking the FAST 92 with TB or will it still be a restriction. Really don't know that why I'm here for the help. In addition would it be wise to throw on a TSP 100mm MAF or would that just be overkill? Thanks, 1sicss.

Personally I would do a FAST 102 if you plan on doing the 92

If you're trying to go max effort, the Fast 102 would be worth the money. I just ordered a Fast 92 yesterday during sponsor black friday sales. I'm willing to give up a little power to save the money I would have to spend on fuel rails and the Fast 102 supporting parts. Either one would absolutely show gains on a H/C car over an LS6 intake.

i noticed you have stock heads, going with a FAST intake would definitely benefit you in the higher RPM's due to the aftermarket cam, but you would probably never notice the difference unless you were racing it everywhere. the LS6 intake should do you plenty fine until you decide to go with aftermarket or ported heads. i would save the $1k for something else, but that is just my opinion.

disagree highly with this post....

a FAST 102 makes more power across the spectrum... and its a big noticeable difference

the LS6 intake only makes more upper rpm power, and its only by 5-7 HP for a couple of hundred rpm's
yes, you can get them cheap, but its wasted money when you can gain so much more by a better intake.

If money isn't an issue, and you have that huge 245cc 799 heads, then buy fast 102. Or what about that victor jr intake?

If i could do it all over again i'd definitely do heads first and then intake and cam. As in buy intake and cam around your heads capability.

well I do have the heads already ported but how much power difference are we talking from the FAST 92 to the FAST 102 with the appropriate TB cause I would hate to spend all the extra cash for rails and other items needed for not very much power when I can use the FAST 92. And this would be with my cam, heads, and whatever intake I decide.

Here are a couple of threads. If you search Tony Mamo and fast long enough you will find where he explains how the 102 is superior to the 92 in every possible way.

I just finished my mamofied build and every prediction Tony made is exactly how it ended. He knows the fast intakes (and a lot more).

For a cheap option on the 102 I was told you can use the OE ls2 rail. You can grind an ear off the water pump rather than buy the stamped pump.
