Tony Mamo 102 w/ stock heads ?
i have sent the money for my MAMO intake on my SI car...the only thing im worried about is the intake ports being way bigger than the heads, especially with being ported now...im afraid this is going to cause turbulence and power loss...i will be takeing the intake apart to see how it matches to the heads when i get it...and will post a ton of pictures of this mamo intake when i recieve it.
post up some opinions

The manifold ports are actually quite small so they can be ported to fit almost an set of heads. Depending on Cathedral or rectangular, of course.
I'm running ported 243's and they line up almost perfectly.
And there's a bunch of pics in here too.

you shouldn't. most of the porting is done a little up stream of where the mani meets the heads. unless they have the heads there to port match.
so you are bone stock heads? what cam?

you will be fine...A larger intake does not hurt the numbers...I have flowed a few at work...The most important shape is the farthermost inlet...Needs to be a smooth bellmouth funnel...
So bigger on the intake vs heads > smaller on the intake vs heads...
i picked up 20rwhp with the 102 & ls3 valves vs a 92...
If you have an ls6 intake to might see around 5 or so rwhp, if ls1 intake it will be double digit gains...let us know how it does...

I can actually answer that question for you come Monday. I have an appointment on the 9th to have Thunder Racing swap my LS6 intake, stock TB, and SLP lid for my Mamofied 102mm LSXr intake, Vengence P&P 102mm TB, and FTP 104mm lid. I am still running stock heads and cam. I do not expect anything spectacular from the install. This is just preliminary for when I decide to do heads and cam.

At the moment, I am running the SLP 85mm MAF with my setup. After the intake swap I will be dropping the MAF for an SD tune. This is based on the recomendations of Thunder Racing who suggested that if I were going to go with a 102/102 setup I would have better driveablitity with an SD tune rather than an MAF tune.

Before I begin, I need to send out some thanks. Thank you Thunder Racing for your excellent customer service and quality work. Thank you Tony Mamo for your astounding port. Thank you everyone and anyone that was involved with this swap.
All pulls were conducted on the Mustang Dyno at Thunder Racing on 09MAY2011.
The heads and cam are stock.
Base Line Information:
Intake: Stock LS6
TB: Stock LS1
MAF: SLP 85mm
Lid: SLP
Bellow: SLP Smooth
Baseline Run: 322hp & 317tq
Intake Swap Modifications:
Intake: FAST LSXr 102mm (Mamofied)
TB: NW 102mm (Vengence P&P)
MAF: N/A
Lid: FTP 104mm
Bellow: 4.25" Silicone Hose
Tune: Speed Density Tune by Thunder Racing
Post-Swap Run: 340hp & 330tq
Net Gain: +18hp & +13tq
All other modifications listed in my signature were present during both the baseline and post-swap run.
Sorry for the crappy photos. All I had was my phone and I had not slept in 30 hours. Overall, I am very satisfied. My acceleration is more responsive and the sound the intake makes when it goes WOT is glorious. Enjoy the results.
