It really doesnt. After the exhaust gases hit the mufflers they are just along for the ride, whether thats being dumped out or out the back. As long as there arent any severe restrictions it shouldnt matter

going way back pat g had a post called something like " the formula " where he made around 500 rwhp from stock cube ls1 and he discusses various exhaust setups. he went with a nice custom y merge.

so all those 90* turns after the mufflers aren't hurting flow? i disagree.

Has anyone gotten the true duals setups off eBay? They look nice.

Feel free to read up on how exhaust pulses work, the scavenging effect takes place in the crossover and collector. When the pulses are dampened, the need to maintain the same flow isn't that necessary, thet's why people reduce to 2.5 after the mufflers with no issues. And as I said as long as there aren't any severe restrictions after the mufflers it really shouldn't matter. Honestly Ive had both dumped and full length duals on the same car and felt no difference.

On my 96 I had both. The total cost of my y pipe with a catback was roughly $550, my duals ran to the back cost $750, $450 after I sold my catback. Go duals
