Like i was saying op, those plastic welds look like crap, the slp i have from slp is almost seamless, i can send pics. My whisper lid however has similar seams. And i thought the Slp lettering was just a decal unless you had a black wing.
So it could be an slp but it fits like my whisper "like ****" and has welds similar to it.
My slp in comparison looks like a completely different product. A lid is a lid, but if you want clean/stock look , id maybe look into a different lid. That one may be a repaired slp, or may just be a blemished from manufacturing. But if slp sent me one that looked like that id return it for my money back, but since you bought it used from a member, it is what it is.
As far as fitment, try 2 things. Install without filter to see. If it seals better, if not try using a hair dryer to slight heat up the lid towards the tabs.
I use Wix filters and they fit better then the one from the factory and ive had no complaints about it.

The Air system won't throw any codes at all. I've done 3 Fbodys and no codes on any of them. Buy/make some delete plates for the manifolds/headers and start removing stuff. You'll need one vaccumm cap for the drivers side. The rest is just removal. Just make sure you leave the fuse for the AIR pump there for some reason I'm thinking I read taking it out causes a SES light. They're actually a how to on it somewhere.

sounds like a gen 1 slp lid. you have to take out the tray under the filter to make it fit and they still fit like ****. my buddy's is a gen 1 also raised slp lettering and cheaply made. they were the ones from the early 2000's the one my friend has was the one that came on his 99 SLP ss. it was not a blackwing but rather the gen 1 lid
